MIN~TA~S OF A SPECIAL ~KETING OF THE CITY 00UNCIL, OF OHULA VISTA, CALIFOI~NIA,
HELD JANUARY 8, 1929.
The Council met, pursuant to c*ll by the Mayor, in the Oouncil Chamber
of the 0try Hall, on the above date, with ~ayor Peters presiding. ~t~eting
called to carder at 8:~0 $~m. Present: ~ayor Peters, Council men Scott, Lyons,
Hawkins, Barnes.
WT~ENING THIRD AVENUE BE'I~ E AND F SETS: W. N. Drew appeared before
council in the matter of widening Third Avenue between E and F Streets, on both
sides, at points where the avenue ia only ~0 feet in width; it was proposed
to make this 80 foot part, 100 feet in width. ~r. Drew proposed to obtain deeds
from the property owners for ten feet off, land, on each side of the Avenue, where
needed to widen the street, and the city^bear.t~e e~pense of tearing ou~ the
present sidewalk and curbs, and replace Et th~[~o'~ation, thus re,wing the side-
walks and curbs in a straight line between E an~ F Streets. The city engineer
computed the cost of this work to be $2226.S0. The question of obtaining the
funds necesaqry for this expenditure was discUssed, as well as the matter of the
property owners paying for full width paving along the avenue between E and F
Streets.
It was moved by Gl. Scott, seconded by Gl. Barnes, that the city will
bear the expense of re~"oving the present sidewalks and curbs, at places men-
tioned above where the street$ ia~onlay. 80 feet in width, mxd replace the same
with new sldewlaks and curbs, all in accordance with the plans as outlined by
the City Planning 0ommission, provided the property owners effected will deed
ten feet of l.~d to the city to m. ke the street 100 feet in width between E
and F Streets. Motion serried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Cl. Scott,
Lyons, Hawkins, Barnes, Peters. NOE~: None. ABSENT: None.
CL. Hawkins then moved that where the new sidewalk and curb is replaced
by the city, as provided fc~ above, that combined sidewalks and curbs be laid.
The motion was seconded by Cl. Scott, and carried unanimously.
3DJOURNMENT: Upon motion by Cl. Scott, seconded by Cl. Barnes, the
Council adjourned.
