The Council met, pursuant to adjournment, in the Council C~-mher of the City Hall, on the above date, with Ma~or Peters presiding. ~ating called to o~er at 7:~0 p. m. Seottt seconded by 01. ~ ~hioh oaf- tied, 0r~inauoe No. 201, was placed on its second and final reading. The ordinance was read, and was passed, a6opted and approve~, as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AY28: Councilmen Lyons, Barnes, Pete~s, Scott. NOES: Nome. ABSEI~T: Cl. H~ekine. This is an ordinance of issue of bonds, voted at election held Sept. ~, 1929. SMAILES PAltK SUBDIVISION: In the matter of completing the streets in this subdivision, Mr. E. m-lville appeared befc~e the Council, and stated that as one of the bonds~or the completion of the said streets, he would not sign a request for the city to c~lete the streets, and charge the cost of the wc~k to the bonds- men. Clerk was in~tructed to write Mr..~,-llee an~ ask that he deposit the cash fc~ the amount required to complete the roads. SIE~W~T.~, NO. 5: A pe~ltion, signed by the owners of 1000 feet of frontngge asking that sidewalk~ ~d curbs be laid on both sides of ~efferson Aven~, was pre- sented. The City Attorney was instructed to p~epare a resolution declaring the in- tention of the Council to have the work performed. LOCAL AIR PCST: Two owners of property near the local air port, on the Bay front, between G and H Streets, appeared and asked the Council to take steps to abate the dust arising f~,n the operation Of the air part. ~hey stated that the dust is ruining their arops, and ~aking their h~aes a~most untenable. The Council instructed the complainants to present a petition, signed by the property owners effected, which they agreed to ~o. DISTRIBUTING CIRCULARS: The minister of the new Baptist Church, recently constructed on E Street, asked the Council for permission to distribute sircula~s advertising the opening of the church. Request denied for the reason that a city ordinance prohibits this In'Cattles. STll~?.w~ ON A PORTION OF ~ STREET: The City Engineer advised the Council that the property owners on Y Street, near ~-nd Avenue, desires to lay sidewalks fronting their property, hut that four small pepper 1maes are standing on land that is above grades that the lay the sidewalk to grads will leave the trees standing to high for sustenance. 0ity Engineer instructed to ~epa~e- set g rads stakes at the established grade, regardless of the trees.
