The Council met in the Cottucil Ghembers of the City Hall, on the above date, at 7 o'clock P.M., with Ma~or Eeithley presidimge l~m~m~t~ Councilmen Keithley, Howe, Riceland. The resolution waS reed in full and wee paseed, sd~pted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Coumc~lmm Riealan~, ~eit~ley, Howe. Noee~ None. Absent: Councilmen ~4mmsid ·, Kidde~. G01tTI~CT ~0R A~C~ITEOT: City Attorney Atherton presented for council study, eopiee of the propesed cont~ast to be catered into with Mr.E.Charles lmark~, for prepa~ing pleas, specifications, etc., for Civic Oenter Site~. Dissuasion followed in which M~.Bay brought up the matter of time for ccmpletion mentioned in Article Z of the contract, amd stated he questioned the advisability of the eight (8) monthslimit. Mr.lmarke then stated that it was to his beat interest to finish the entire contract withiu five (5) or mix (6) month~ from the date of notice to ecmamenee, and he would endeavor so to do. t~ilt-im~ are ts be constr-ed as p~rt of the structure. Civic Center Buildimg~ were defined as these used ia a ~l~w Center, or nc~=ll~ used in the administration of city eXfel~a. The contract was approved -~ the Mayor authorize~ to si~ for the cit~ by the following vote, to-wit. Ayes: Councilmen Riasland, Keithley, Ho.~. Noes: None. ~b~ent: uouncilw~u Burnside, Kidder. RESIGtqATION PLANNIN~ O~ION ~u~_. Mr.E,Oharles Parks tendered his resignation as member of the Planning Cmmmt~sion in order to devote full ttm. to the work of preparing plans for 0iris Center. On motion by Councilman Keithley, seconded by Counci]m-n Riesland, which carried, resi~tion was accepted. AEDITIONAL POLIO. Oi~ Manager Ray presented for ~ppreval, an ~greement to hire C.I.Slemd to work for the Police Depar~t of the City of Chula Vista, and, on motion by Counci~m-n Eeithley, seconded by 0ouncil~n Howe, which carried, the agreement was ~pproved. I~PORT ON ~F~VICE STATION - FOUi~H AND "E". City ~---ger Bay reported progress on the matte~ cf removal of Mr.l%~ger Lse~T~ucking bus~aee from the location at Fourth Avenue and "E" Street. He stated that Mr.~ee has now leased property outside the city ~tmtts, amd that he, Mt.Ray, has now received en ~gree~ent from ~.Fogerty, owner of the station, to have ~ll objectionable business removed by November 15, 1945.
