The Council met in the Council Cham~ers of the City Hall, on the above
date, at? o'clock P.~., with I~yor Keithley presiding° Present: Councilmen
Keithley, Burnside, Kidder, Rieslando Absent: Council~man Ho~. O~Di'I~iNC E
On Motion by Counci~uau Burnside, seconded by Counci~mn Riesl~ud, ~ich
carried, Ordinance No.G4~ was placed on its second and final reading. T~is is
an Ordinance ~nending Article I, Section i of Ordinance Nc. BSa, relating to
fees for Building°
The Ordinance was read in D~ll ~ud was passed, ~dopted and ~pproved by the
following vote, to-vrlt: ~yes: Councilmen Burnside, Kidder, Riesland, Keithley.

SHORE P~T~0L: City ~?~na~er Rny reported that the Shor~ Patrol had been
~,~lthdrawn from Chula Vista, and that in practias~ effect, this w~S the s~ue as
losing five (5) policemen. He e~pl~ined the problems of the Police Department
in coping with what appears to be a decided increase in crime ~nd traffic viola-
tions.

Ray and the Council, the necessity for some action to curb accidents on Second
Avenue~ more partl~larly at "G" Street and "I" Street. ~.Ray explained that,
in his opinion, boulevard stops were not the answer, ~s it would only tend to
increase the reckless speed on Second ~nue, and thus increase the h~z~rd rather
th~n decrease it. It ~as finally agreed that further study would be given the
~atter ~ud so~ forr~ of regulation at ~u e~rly date.

Bu~nside, v~ich carried, were ordered paid.
~) FOR EECR~TIOE: gouncil~eu Riesland reported that ~rs.Goff had quoted
a price of ~10,000.O0 to 'the City for ten (lC) acres located south of the Chula
Vista Yunior High School for recreation purposes° ~o action was t~eno
Council~m Kidder retired at this time.

On motion by CounciLman Riesl~nd, seconded by Counci]~uan Burnside, v~ich
carried, Ordinance No. J~9 was placed on its first reading. This is
regulating plumbers ~ud plumbing in the City of Chula Vista. The title having
been read, on motion by Counc~l~ Riesland, seconded by ~ouncilmsm Burnside,
~h~ma~e~ further reading of ~he text was waived. The motion was carried
by the following vote, to-wit: A~ves: CounciLmen Rieslaud, Burnside, Keithley.
Noes: None. ~bsent: Councilmen How~ and Kidder.
