this lighting. After discussion, upon motion by Cl. Lyons, seconded by Cl. Co~vere,
which carried, the clerk was authorized to sign the application for the service for

I~EDGING IN BAY: The clark read a letter f~on the San Diego Chamber of
in which this city is asked to state that it has its cha~e of the funds ~equired by
the U. S. ~ovex-mnent, for ~re~ging a aha--el in the bay. The e~a ~equire~ ia $5000..

thc effect that this city can furnish this money only if voted hy the electors as
bond issue.
RED~ICTIN~ TB~ COUNTY: A letter from County Superivsor ~sting was read.
I~ asks this Council to assist in having the oouuty redistricted, in order to more
equitably transact the business of the County. Clerk instructed to write Mr. Haetln
that the Council will assist in any way proactioable.
VE','~A~5' BONUS: Mr. Vel Dage verbally asked this Council to telegraph to
Co,ese Phil Swing, and U. S. Senators Shortridge an~ Yohnson, urgin~ support of H.
Bill No. 1, known as the Pa~.-~ Bill, and which bill provides for t~e payment of the
balance of the veterans' bonus. Upon motion by Cl. Bradley, seconded by Cl. Lyons,
which ea-~ried, the clerk was iustructed to sen~ such telegrams. Cl. Conyerc did not
vote on this motion.
FREE LICEN~g: The clerk presented an expired free license, issued to C. eorge
Colbert, of San Diego, who is s~lmost blind. The holder of this lieenze had asked
clark to present the matter and ask that the liCense be renewed. The licenze permi~
the peddling of brocks and brushes. Upon motion by 01. Lyons, seconded by 01. Brad]
which ~arried, the clerk was instructed to renew the license for a perio~ of one
S~m~A' TREES: Mr. $. Y. Flint asked for l~rmission to remove some street
bordering on his property on First Avenue, between H and I Streets. Referred to
Bngineer to investigate and report bask.
