Chief Dupree reported on his inw~stigation o¥"tra~fic hazard at B~Y ~ule~ard and "ii" Street, Bay Boulevard and "I" Street, in response to requests froL~ tl~ Rohr ~ircraft Corporation for traffic patrol during shift ch~uges. ~w~ stated that it would take four (4) extra men to adeqUately control this traffic and t~hat they ~re not available at present. Chief Dupree suggested ttmt possibly signal lights Ltight solve the problem, ~nereupon the city clerk was instructed to get costs of installation of smue. EK~Ot{~ ON ~: ~,~r. Freeland,~ an engineer from S~u Diego, appeared before %he council explaining the procedure necessary for drafting tentative estimate and plsms for the repair of Third Avenue with '~uarter-cent gasoline tax ~.oney. tlc stated he had conferred with ~Ir. Beuthel of the Division of Highways, relative to the na~e of repair which vould be acceptable to the state, cad that before any program could be decided upon, it would be necessary to draft tentative costs and plans. Upon motion by Couac~lm-n Keithley, seconded by Councilman Kidder, which carried, l~.Freeland was authorized to proceed to draft an estf~te and prepare preliminary plans of cost. CAB ,ORDINANCE: D~.Thomas appeared before the Council to request that en Ordinance regula'ting cabs in the City of Chula Vista, be drafted, and the matter was referred to the City Attorney for investigation. REQUEST FOR BENOHES: Mt. Richard Halferty requested permission to erect eight (8) benches at bus stops in the city for the convenience of commodore. The benches to carry advertising of his cleaning establishment. Upon motion by Council~n Burnside, seconded by Councit~-n Howe, which carried, permission waS granted. RESOLUTION N0.691: CouncilE.n Burnside offered Resolution No.691. This is a Resolution creating a fund to be known ~s ~arbO~ Development Fund. The Resolution was read in full, ~n~ was passed, adopted sad approved by the folio%ring vote, to-wit: J~yes: ~ouncllmen Burnside, Kidder, Keithley, Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Rtesland. ,~E,S~, LUTION N0.69,2: Council~ Howe offered Besolution No.692. This is a Resolution for t~e dedication of a portion of Bay Boulevard. The Resolution ~as read in full and ~as passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: ~kves: Councilmen Ho~, Burnside, Kidder, F~eithley. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Rtesland. LIGHTS IN THE PAR~, ,' The Clerk called the atte~tion to the council of the need for lights in the park, and stated he had received numerous complaints from residents relative to this need. On motion by Coune~ilman Burnside, seconded by Councilm~n Kidder, -~hich carried, the clerk was authorized to instruct M~r. Norman, park superintendent, to proceed with the installation of necessary lights to adequately cover the a~ea. ,t~0VAL OF Di~-OUT Pjd/~T:, Upon motion b y Councilman Kidder, seconded by Counel~,~ Keithley, ?hich carried, the city clerk was authorized to ask the San Diego Gas & Electrl~ Company to remove the paint from the street lights within the City of Chula Vista, there being no further need for sm~e due to the removal of dim-out restrictions.
