The Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above
date, at 2.Z0 P~., with ~ayor Howe presiding. Present: Councilmen Timm~ns,
Burnside, Perkins, Kidder, Howe. Absent: None.

requesting a Resolution be passed urging the q~ School Board to grout to the
City of Chula Vista a thirty (Z0) foot strip crossing the northezm end of their
school property for the Opening up of Davidson St~eto ~fter a short discussion
Council did not feel that they should influence the school board in matters of
this kind, v~areupO~ motion was made by Councilman TL-~mons, seconded by Councilman
Kidder, ~d carried, that Counci~m~n PerkLus be authorized to represent the council
at the next ~eting of the school board, with power to ~ct.
~'~BOR DRIVE: The clerk was authorized to answer a letter from the
Federal Works Agency, in ~hich they requested the city to participate in the
construction and acquisition of additional rights of way for the extension of
Harbor Drive from northerly city lir~its to the Rohr Aircraft Corporation in
Chula Vista, and advise them that the City is ~illLug to ~aintain the project after
c~npletion, but does not wish to obligate itself by assuming any of the cost of
construction or acquisition of sdditianal rights of vtay ~t ~m~is time.
RE~UE~2 FOR ~IAL:. i~. ~aurice Hooper asked the City Council in
letter to make some prOvision for the erection of a I~orial to honor Chula
Vista's war dead. The City clerk was authorized to ~uswer ~.Hooper and ~dvise
him that the Council has in mi~d a ~Iemori~l Park for this purpose at the end
of hostilit~s s.
~ OF IRA DI,~:. The Council having received a second notice
of clsim for damages from attorney representing Ira Iv!.Narren. Upon advice
City Attorney Little, motion ~.~s made by Councilman Burnside, seconded by
Council~n Kidder, and carried, that the claim be denied.
~DIlCANCE ~Q.ZE6: Upon motion by Councilma~ Burnside, seconded by
Councilm~n Ti~mnons, v~ich carried, Ordinance Eo.~6 was placed on its first
reading. This is an Ordinance creating e~d establishing a Capit~l Outlay Fund.
The 0rdin~uce was read iu full and ~he following corrections inserted and included
in the Ordinance, priC~ to its introduction.
Paragraph ~. The Following words were inserted after the words, "City
Hall", in the third Ltue, to-wit: "including Fire and Police StatiOns"; and in
Section b, line ~, after the words "Oity Hall", to-wit: "including Fire and Police
Stations". No oSher changes were made or authorized.
