COUNCILI IN THE CITY OF CHUIJ~ VISTA~ CALIFORNIAI ~]1 JANUARY 10,1944.
The Council met in regular session in the Council 0hasher of the City
of Chula Vista, City Ma]I, on the above date, with Mayor ~we,presiding. The
meeting was called to order at 7 o'clock P.M., Present: Councilmen Howe,
Timmons, Burnside, Kidder. Absent: Counci~w~n Perkins.
The minutes of the regular meeting held December 13, 1943, and the
regular adjourned meetingS of December 18, 1943 and January 3, 1944, haFAng been
prepared and mailed, were approved aS prepared and mailed.
P~k~ORT OF CHT~u~ OF POI.ICE: The clerk read a report of the Chief of
Police for the year 1943, smd, on motion by Councilman Burnside, seco nded by
Oou~cilm~B Kidder, which carried, the report was ordered filed.
The Council expreseed its appreciation to Chief ~ank Duple for the
efficient manner in which the department had been operated the past year.
PURCHASE OF BONDS: The Clerk asked the Council for authorization to
buy Series "G" War Bonds, in the amount of $10,000.00. On motion by Councilman
Timmons, seconded by Councilman Burnside, which carried, authorization was
granted.
POST ~'~AR PLANNINQ:, Mr~-~on Rieeland appeared before the Council
to request the appoinlm~nt of a representative from the Council to confer with
the Chamber of Commerce and other civic organizations, in the planning of work
projects for post war consideration. Mayor Howe thereupon appointed Councilman
Kidder, and, upon motion by Councilm.~ Tlmmons, seconded by Councilman Burnside,
which carried, the appointment was confirmed.

The Resolution was offered by Councilman Howe, and was read in full,
and was passed, adopted and approved by the followlmg vote, to-wit:
