The City Attorney having re~=-~nde~ that pew.it be grant, d, on motion by Counsil~ l~rkins, ssconde~ by Council.~ Ti~nons, ~hich carried, authority was given the City C~erk to issue the pe~.tto F~T XN~U~A~Cg: The Clerk e~lai~d to the Counci~ that the matter of Fleet ~su~ence fo~ automobiles owned by the City of Ohula Vista far the new yea~ was soon to expire, a~, further stated that tBS ~hula Vista Iust~enoe ,~ Agency had not participated previously in Fleet insUrance for tBS city. After a short d~Is~sion on motion by Councilman Timmo~s, seconded b~ Councilw~- Burnside, which carried, tBS clerk was au*.borized to have the above ~tioned agency w~ite the Fleet ~usurance for this yea~. A~A-A~TION OF $.C.I~X~: Mr.~.O.Nixon having previously applied for lic~se to ~nsthll A~se~ent Ge~s in C~xula Vista, and his application having been denied by tbe Chief of Police, requested, through his attorney 1~. ~smes Holt, that his l~ight of Appeal to the Council, be continue~ to the ne~t regular council meeting date. Mt.Holt stated that his client reported that ha wa~ slugge~ at his ho~el the other night end was "nablo to s~pear. Upon motion by 0ounci~m~ Perkins, seconded by Counc~m~ B~rnside, wBich carried, the request for extenSion was granted. t~g~ ~ LI .C~. TRA~ER: Mr. Foha Co.away of the Paat!~ Club located in C~tla Vista, advis~l the Council that he wished to sell his business a~d asked if his license to ope~te a card ~oom could be tr~fex~ed to the new owner in the event of sale. The City attorney s~laine~ to ~r. Oonaway that provision of the existing 0rdi~ance, di~ not allow transfer of any license, and that the new owner w~uld have to m~ke application as presoribe~ by Ordinance, and s~ would be acted upon by the C~lief of Police and Council. City Attorney further advised Mr,Oonaway that it was his opinion that a permit would not be grante~, however, because it would be contrary to the provi- sions of the 0rdin~uce which was designe~ to prevent more t~ one csrd ~ocau in each block.
