The Council met in regular session in the Council Chambers of the City
of Chula Vista, City Hall, on the above shown date, with 1,~yor Ho~e presiding.
The ~eting was called to order at ? o'clock P.~, Presemt: Cotmcilmen Howe,
Perkins, Ti~nons, Burnside ~nd Kidder. Absent: None.
The minutes of the regu .l~ur mmeting held May lC, 194Z, having been pre-
pared and mailed to each member of the Council, were approved as prepared ~d m~iled.
~inutes of the Planning Cozmmlssion held Ytme V, 19~, were read.
0~J)INAN~E NO.~lS: On motion by Councilman Perkins, seconded by Council-
m~ Timmons, v~ich carrie~ Ordin~uea No.318, which is an Ordinenea granting Zone
Variance, was placed on its second and final reading. The Ordinance was in its ~
exact form as when placed on its first reading, end was passed, ~opted and ~pproved
by the following vote, to-wit: ~Ayes: Oomucilmen Perkins, Burnside, Kidder, Howe,
and Timmons. Noes: None. ~bsent: None.
0~)I~L'~CE N0.319: On motion by Oouncilma~ Burnside, seconded by
Councilmau Tin.ohs, ~hich "c~rried, 0rdinence No.~19, which is an Ordinance governing
the storage of inflarmmable liquids in the City of Chula Vista, w~s placed on its
second end final reading. The heading was read, wl~ereupon motion by Oounci~u
Kidder, seconded by Oouncilm~n Howe, which carried, the reading of the text was ,~
waived. The Ordinauce was in its exact form as when placed on its first reading,
aud waS passed, adopted a~d approved by the following vote, to-~it: ~yes:
Councilmen Burnside, Kidder, Howe, Ti~mons, Perkins. Noos: None° ~bsent: ~None.
OEDINANOE NO~ZEO: On motion by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Counci~u
Burnside, which carried, Ordinance ~Oo0~0, which is en ~rdinense ~ending 0rdinsnce
No.253, regulating and licensing card tables and card rooms, ~'~s read in ffull. ~
This being an emergency 0~linence, s~ue was passed, adopted, and approved by the
following vote, to-wit: ~yes: Councilmen Kidder, Hc~Je, T~im~ons, Perkins, Burnside.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
REQUEST FOR Uhw_FORL~:~, ~,~. Lawrence Ku~bler ~ppeared before the Council,
to request~ au appropriation of ~150.00 to be used for the purctmse of uniforms and ~
e~uipment for the Jtmior P~trol. On motion by Councilman Burnside, seconded by
Councilm~ Kidder, which carried, the request waS grented.
REoJ~T FOR AID ON HONOR ROLL PLAQUE:, The clerk read a letter from
I~. ~'ack T.Millan, requesting an appropriation of $150.00 for expenses incurred in
~ing and erecting the Honor Roll Plaque, to be placed in the park. On motion v~
by Councll~ Tin.ohs, seconded by Councilman Kidder, ~,~aich carried, the clerk
~as authorized to honor bills for the above, providing same did not exceed $130.00.
REQ~ FOR ~JODITIOI~L TAXI CAB SERVICE.'_ Council authorized the clerk
to write a letter :e the Regi'onal office of O.D.T. requesting consideration in
the ~tter of extended taxi cab service in the City of Chula Vista.

carried, the transfer was ~uthorized.
EESIC~LTION 0F CITY ~d~OR~EY: City ~.ttorney Fletcher, advised the
Council, that he hnd e~listed in the Naval Service and that he ex~pected to be
c~lled most any time to the service. He tendered his resignation as City
~ttorney, to be effectiw if and when he was called to active service in the
a~ued forces. On motion Councilman Ti~nons, seconded by Councilm~n Kidder,
~zhich carried, the resignation to be effective as outlined above, was accepted
with regrets.
