The Council met in reguler sesslon in the Council ~"--~ber of the Cit~ mqll, on

The minutes of the regular meeting held April 13. 1942. having been prepared and
mailed to anoh -~mber of this 0ounoil, ~ere approved as prepare~ and mailed.
The minutes of the Planning 0~-.~ ssion masting hel~ May 4, 194~-, were read by
the 0lerk, and. upon motion by Oouncl~w~- Burnside. seconded by 0ounc~l.-- Tt~.ons. which
carried, were approved as read°
I~U~T i~ ~lm~?~?ION Ct~ OF 00~(~E: The clerk read a request from
the Oh.tuber of 0o~.~ree for an appropriation in the ~aoont of $600.00 to be used for
various advertising and promotion purposes, and on motion by 0ouncil-~ ~erkins,
seconded by 0ounoil~a- Dupree, which car~led, the ~ was gx~uted.
WATER ~l The clerk reed a letter from the Bank of America, La Mesa
Breneh, requesting that an inspection he made of water which xams from the 0hula Vista
0elery Orowers plant on "K" Street ~ring the packing seaSOn on private property
adjacent. On motion by 0ounoll.~- Howe, seconded by Oounoll-~- Dupree, which carried,
the matter was referred to Counci~-~n Perkins for investi~tion and correction, and ~he
clerk was authorizad to write to the Bank of America, and advise of the action taken.
NOTICE OF APPLICJ~TION TO ,~: The War Department by circular, advised ~11
interested parties that the Rohr Aircraft Corporation had made application to dredge
certain parts of the Bay adJacant to their plant, and the Council being f~mtliar with
the program, no action was taken.

having been read in full, on motion by 0ouncll~ Howe, seconded by 0ouncilman Perkins,
~hich carried, rending of the text ~as w~i~d. The 0~dinance was in the exact fern ~
as when placed on its first reading, and was passed, adopted and ~p~o~d by the
following vote, to-wit: Ayes: 0ouncll-~n Burnside. Hc~e. Timons, Dupree and
Perkins. Noes'. None. Absent: None.
ORDINANCE ~0.306: On motion by Councilm~n T~-w. ons, seconded by 0ounell-~ Burnside,
which carried, (~!~-noe NOe~06 w~as placed on its second reading. The 0~dinence was
read in full and was in the exact form as when placed on its first reading, and was
passed, adopted and $~provod by the following vote, to-wit: AyeS: Councilmen
Timmons, Dupree, Perkins, Burnside and Howe. Noes: None. Absent: None.
S'.'~' SIGN REPAIR: Attention was called to the fact that the Neon sign at the
corner of ~ational ~wmue and "E" Street, was badly in need of repa~ and painting.
An estimate for ~e saz~ in the ~mount of $35.00 was given by the San Diego Neon Sign
Company, and on motion by 0ouncil-~- Tint.ns, seconded by Counci~- Perkins, which
carried, the clerk was authorized to order the sign repaired end painted for not to
exceed the above amount.
RE.TEST FOR ST .1~ ,0.1~.ING: A request was pr®santed by the l~ohr ~Arcraft
for the opening'; g~ading and oiling of #I" Street to the belt li~e railway tracks, and
for the sez~ on -I- Street, extandi~g westerly to the moan high ti~e line. As this
involves matters of rights of way etc., on motion by Counci~---~ Perkins, seconded by
Counc]~m~ Dupree. which carried, the 0ity Attorney was instx~Aoted to negotiate the
matters of rights of way and street ~Atensions, ~nd report to Council at next meeting.
REQUEST FOR TAA~ ~ L. FA~.~, The Rohr Aircraft submitted a request for a lease
on certain tide 'la~ds adjacent to t heir p~operty on the Bay front, and on motion by
0ounc~-~- Dupree, seconded by Councilman T~m-~ns, w~ich carried, the matter was
referred to the City Attorney, with instructions to prepare a form of lease and submit
to the council for action.
Councilman Howe presanted a letter which he had received f~om ~, Y.A.~ool~ey
