The Council met in regular session in the Council Chmnber of the City Hall on the above shown date with Mayor Howe presiding. The meeting wes called to order at ? o'clock P.M. Present: Olmen. Howe, Timmons, Burnside; Absent: C~men. Dupree and Perkins. MINUTES OF FH~iOUS T~,TI~S: The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August llth, of the Adjourned Regular ~eeting of August 21st and of the Adjourned Regular ~eeting of Sept. 2nd. having been prepared Md mailed to each m~mber of the Council were approved as prepared and mailed. PLANIIING CC~$~ISSION ~:,, The Minutes of the Planning Ot.~..~ ssion meeting held Sept. End. were read by the clerk and were approved as read. 0RDII~iNCE NO. 302: Upon motion by Cl. Tlmmons, seconded by Cl. Burnside, which carried, 0rdl~-~ce No. 302 was placed on its second and final reading. The ordinance was in the exact form as given at its first reading at the meeting of this 0ouncil held August 21, 1941 and was passed, adopted and appzoved by the following vote, to-wit: AMes: Olmen. Timmons, Burnside and H~we; ~oes: None; Absent: Clmen. Dupree and Perkins. RESOLUTION NO. 610: Cl. Tf~m~ons offered ~Resolu~tion No. ,61,0. This is a resolution approving underground crossing agreement with the S. D. and A. E. ~. Co. end directing its execution. The Resolution was read in full and was passed, adopted ~ud approved by the following vote, to-wit: AMes: Cl~n. Howe, Ttw~ons, Burnside; Noes: None; Absent: Clm-u. Dupree and Perkins. RESOLUTION NO. 611: Cl. Burmside offered Resolution No. 611. This is a resolution ~pproving private road crossing agreement with the S. D. and ~. E. RY. C~mpany and direct- ing its execution. The resolution was read in full and was passed, ~dopted ~nd approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Olmen. Burnside, Howe, Ttrsmons; Noes: i~one; Absent: Clw~n. Dupree and Perkins. RESOLUTION NO. 61,~.: Cl. Tt~w.ons offered Resolution i~o. 61E. This is a resolution authorizing and 'directing the Superintendent of Streets to request aid from the Board of SuperVisors of the County of San Diego in removing obstruction in natural watercourse. The resolution was read in full and was passed, adopted and approved by the followint vote, to-wit: AMes: Clmen. Tt.w. ons, Burnside, Howe; Noes: ~one; Absent: O~men. Dupree and Perkins. L~'.'±'ER OF THANES: The clerk read a letter from the Secretary of the Christiau Science Church thanking the City for the use of the park bowl for a Christian Science lecture. SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA CLUB: The clerk read a letter from the San Diego California Club c~alling attention to Chula Vista advertisements displayed in their publicity matter. RESOLUTION NO. 61~.: Cl. Howe offered Resolution No. 61.~. This is a resolution authorizing and directing the Oo,,..~ssioner of Police to direct a letter to proper author- ities of the State Highway Departm-nt requesting that National Avenue in the City of Chula Vista be m~de into a four lane highway. T~e resolution was read in full and was passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Clmen. Howe, Ttmmons, Burnside; Noes: None; Absent: Clmen. Dupree and Perkins. 0RDII~CE NO. 30~: Upon motion by Cl. Burnside, seconded by Cl. T~mm~ns, which carried, Ordinance No. 303, was placed on its first reading. This is an ordinance of the City of Ohula Vista designating certain streets therein as boulevards and regulating travel and traffic thereon. LEAGUE DINNER: Mayor Howe advised the Council that he had secured Major ~acauley as speaker for the next League meeting to be held in Chula Vista on Sept. 19th. The clerk was instructed to notify ~. Richardson, Secretary of the League, to that effect° FIRE HAZARD: Building Inspector Arthur Done notified the Council that in his opinion the building ~'n' the rear of Peters Feed Store smd used by that concern for the storage of hay presented a very definite fire Hazard and suggested that ~. Peters be requested to abate this hazsrd by the installation of boards or battens to cover the wide cracks. The Inspector stated further that the building west and ovmed by the 0hula Vista Lumber Company was in a state of collapse and for safety's sake should be razed at once. Upon motion by Cl. Timmons, seconded by Cl.
