CALIFOEflA, HELD JUNE 30th., 19~1.
The Council met in special session in the Council 0hamber of the Oity Hall at
~ o'clock P. M., all members being present except Cl. Perkins, held in compliance
with a preceding notice of special meeting executed by .11 members of the Oity
Council of the City of 0hula Vista, Oalifornia, prior thereto.
RESOLUTION ~).601: 01. Howe offered Resolution No. 601. This is a resolution accept-
ing agreement for expenditure of ~ cent gas tax money on State Highways. The resolu-
tion was read in full and waS passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit:
Ayes: Olmen. Howe, Dupree, Paxton, Done. Noes: None; Absent: CL. Perkins.
ADDITIONAL PAP~NG FAC!'~._WI'~-~ RE~UEST~M: It having been requested that the Council
lease a certain plot of land on National Avenue for the purpose of parking ceos belong-
ing to the students of the Vocational Training School located on National AvenueS
Upon motion by Cl. Howe, seconded by Cl. l~axton, which carried, the request waS denied.
RESIGNATION OF BUILDING Ii~PECTOR: The clerk read the resi~-tion of Mr. William
Lyons as building inspector to be effective June 30th. Upon motion by Cl. Dupree,
seconded by Gl. Howe, which carried, the resignation was accepted and the clerk author-
ized to write Mr. Lyons expressing regret.
The clerk thereupon read a letter of application for
the position of building inspector frcma Mr. Ed DoNee of 0hula Vista; there being no
nomination the application waS tabled.
It~was moved by Cl. Dupree, seconded by Gl.
and carried that the salary of the building inspector should be increased to $175.00 per
month with $1§.00 monthly allowance for personal automobile expense and also that the
building inspector be the plumbing inspector and the electrical inspector thus consol-
idating the three inspection offices under one head.
Cl. Dupree moved that Mr. Jack King be nc~inatsd
for the position of building inspector but the motion was lost for want of a second.
Cl. Howe moved that Arthur Done be appointed
building inspector, the motion was seconded by Cl. Paxton; Mayor Done then vacated the
chair and the clerk called the roll, the following votes were cast: Ayes: Olmen. Howe,
Dupree, Paxton; i~oes: None; Absent: Cl. Perkins.
RESIGNATION OF MAYOR DONE: ~or Done tendered his resignation as counc~l,.-~ to be
ef'fective at once and upon motion by Cl. Dupree, seconded by Cl. Paxton, which carried,
the resignation was accepted with regret. Mr. DOne then form-lly accepted the position
of building inspector ~fter having expressed his appreciation for the m~ny courtesies
and the cooperation tendered him during his years in office.
AI1TOUI~.: Upon motion by Cl. Howe, seconded by Cl. Paxton, which carried, the
meeting was adjourned sine die.

Californ~a, hereby consent to the holding of a SPECIAL ~.~'i'ING of the City Council
to be held Sune 50th., 1941, at 4 o'clock P. M. in the Council Chsmber of the
City Hall for the purpose of
A. Consideration of the resignation of the Building Inspector and
the appointment of a new inspector to fill the vacancy, if
necessary;
B.to act in the matter of the proposed street improvements on
National Avenue with ~ gas t~x f~nds;
C.to act in the matter of additional parking facilities on
National Avenue to serve defense training students;
