Th~ Council met pursuant to adJoullment in the council ch-tuber of the City Hall on the above shown date with ~ayor Done presid~ng. The meeting was called to order at ? o'closk P. t/. P~esent: All members. REN~MTNG OF S~XTH AVENUE: A petition was read by the clerk signed by seven o~ners of property adjacent to Sixth Avenue in which they requested that in changing the nome of Sixth Avenue so~sideration be given tca different --me than that proposed. Several reasons were set forth why in ~heir opinion Telegraph W~ad was not appropriate. They suggested that Sixth Avenue be ealled Hill T~p Drive or Hill Top Road. Mr. R. L. ~aeller appeared before the 0ou~cil at this ttma ~ expressed his views on the re~-m~ng of streets in general. He stated that he had formerly bee~ a member of the Pl~t~g Ocm~eaion and that the matter of changing house mma~ers instead of street --~s had been discussed at length and he strox~ly u~ged that the 0eu~cil give consideration to changing house starting at the BulWhead Line on the Bay f~ont ~ud xl~uning east instead of the present set- up which begine at Sixth Avenue and rums west. He said the object of t~is plan was to allow for the future expansion of Ohula Vista without having to again change the whole set- up of streets a~d h~Ase nmmbers. Upon motion by Cl. Howe, seconded by Cl. Paxton. matter was referred back to the Planning 0~.,t ssion for further consideration; the motion was carried, Cl. Perkins voting ROHR AIRCRAFT CORPORATION: The clerk read a letter from the Santa Fe Laud Oompamy, ~nc. in which they advised the Council that the Rokr Aircraft Corporation had purchased a~ additional ten acres of lend on which they held a release of option from the City of Chula Vista. Perkins reported for this eo~ttee that a~ aeceptable site had bee~ located on the West half of Lot 16 in Q-,arter Section owned by the City of Chela Vista whereupon it was moved by Cl. D~pree, seconded ~y Cl. Paxton amd carried that a lease be given to the America~ Legion for a building site with the proviso that the building be const~uoted some time during the year 19Al, the lease to ~e prepared subject to the approval of the City Attorney. RECREATION GOings, SION: Cl. Perkins, Chairman of the Finance ~ttee, reported tha~ he had investigated the ~robable cost of maintaining i~sar~uce mud Lights f~ the proposed reereation field a~d recommended that the sum of $~0.00 be budgeted for the year for s$ined insurance and lighting e~pense. ~e also recow,~nded that a limit of SEO.O0 for any one month for lights be incorporated in the a~se~t with the I~ereation C~,,.,,lssion and the athletic director or supervisor be held responsible for the proper use of lights. Upon motion by 01. Howe, seconded by ~1. Duprse, which carried, the clerk wms authorized to transfer $250.00 from the unappropriated reserv~ to the Recreation Commission fund for the above purpose. OI~DINANOE NO. 295: Upon motion by Cl. Perkins, seconded by Cl. Paxton, which carried, Ordi~ placed on its second and final reading. This is an ordinance creal~- ing a public' recreation c~.mtssion, prescribing terms of members, organization and powers and duties. The ordinance was in the exact form as given on its first reading at the meeting of this Council Sanuary 6, 1941. The title was read in full a~ further reading was waived by motion of Cl. This is an ordinance amending Ordinance I~o. 165 of the City of Chula Vista removing certain properties from Zone A into Zone B. ORDINANCE N0. 295: Upon motion by Cl. t~we, seconded by Cl. Perkins, which carried, Ordi~ce No. 295 was placed on its second and final reading. This is au ordinance .~nding Section 1 of Article $ of 0m~inance No. 265. The ordi~*nse was in the exact form as given on its first reading at the meeting of this council held SenUary 6, 1~41. The title was read in full end on motion by Cl. Howe, seconded by Cl. Perkins, which carried, by unanimous vote, further reading of the ordinance was waived. The ordinance was passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Clmen.
