The Council met pursuant to adJour~,~ut in the Council Chamber of the City ~all on the above shown date with M~or Done presiding. The meeting was c.lled to order aS ? o'clock P.M. Present: Olmen. Done, Howe, Paxton and Perkins. Absent: 01. Duprae. ,0~DINANCE N0. P~9: Upon motion by 01. HOwe, seconded by Cl. Paxton, which ce~rried, Ordinance No. 289 was placed on its second and final reading. This is sm ordinance establishing the tax rate for the fiscal year 1940-1941. The 0rdin~uce was read in full and was in the exact form as given on its first reading at the meeting of this Council August 5, 1940. It was paSsed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Clman. Done, Paxton, Perkins, Done. Noes: None. Absent: Cl. Dupree. 0,1~INAI~E N0. ~-90: Upon motion by ¢1. Perkins, seconded by Cl. Howe, which carried, 0~linance No. 290 was placed on its second and final reading. T~is is an ordinance a~ending Ordinance No. 194 of the City of 0hula Vista providing for the licensing of Contractors for cement w~rk in sai~ City. The Ordinance was read in full and was in the exact form as given on its first rea~ing at the meeting of this Council held August 5, 1940. It was passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Cl.~n. Perkins. Done, HOwe and Paxton. Noes= None. Absent= Cl. Dupres. ,L~ABILIT~ INS~P~CE: The clerk presented a letter from Mr. R. T. 0onyers in which he called attention to the fact that there is at present no liabi~ity insurance on the City ·Nall, the City I~brary, end the 0ity-Owned residence at 456 H Street. After some dis- cussion it was unanimously agreed by the Couucil that there should be included in the new policies to be written August 24th, 1940, public liability coverage of Five to Ten Thous- and Dollars limitation end the clerk was o~dered to so advise Mr. Conyers. .]~.v~,,$ ,,T~?~r~ qA~l~ The matter of application for permit to establish a trailer camp on National Avenue, which had been refex~e~ to the City Attorney for investigation, was again brought to the attention of the Council. The City Attorney having advised the Council that in his opinion there was nothing in this application contradictory to the City's present ox'~tnenOes, upon motion by Cl. Perkins. seconded by Cl. HOwe, which carried, the clerk was auth~ize~ to issue a pe~.~t providing investigation sho~e~l that there are aS least 60 per cent of the property owaars within a radius of five hun~ed feet of the land o~ed by ~.
