,.R~,QUEST FOR FACTOR~ SITE: Mr. F. H. Nottbusch, Yr., representing the Rohr Alrcraf~
Corporation, appeared before the Council to request cooperation from the City of Ohula Vista
in the matter of selecting a site for a proposed factory for m-~ufacturiag air plaue parts.
Mr. Nottbusch made the statement thatnif it were possible his clients would like a donation
of a ten acre plot of land in the vicinity of the water front for this factory site but upon
being informed by the City Attorney that the City could not legally purchase land and then
donate same to a private corporation, made the state, ant that his clients might be willing
to purchase a ten acre plot of ground, providing a satisfactory price for s~m could be pro-
cured. Cl. Howe at this time reported on his conference in Los Augeles with the Santa Fe
Land ¢~.mp. eny officials to the effect that while the Santa Fe was willtug to sell to the City of
Chula Vista a certain number of acres of ground at a price of $~00 an acre, they would not
sell this same land to an individual con, any for less tbA~ $1,000 per acre; they further
stated that the reason for the reduced price per acre to the City was for the sole purpose of
allowing the City of Chula Vista to choose its own industries.
Mx.. Nottbusch then asked the Council if in their opinion the
Santa Fe Land Con~any might not be willing to sell his clients ten acres of lend at $300 per
acre, providing the City was ready and willing to relinquish their option on the said ten
acres and to further recc~umend that the sale be made. Cl. Hc~e stated that under the circum-
stances he was of the opinion that the Santa Fe I~ Company wou~l be willing to do this.
Thereupon Ma~or Done requested that City Attorney ttiggs and Counc~m~ Perkins m~e an
appointment with Mr. Nottbusch's clients and the ~auta Fe Land Company in Los Angeles on
