1. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Charter Review Commission of the City of Chula Vista
was called to order at 5:59 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Secretary Cornejo called the roll.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public Comment: Cheryl Perez, Chula Vista, spoke in support of removing or
tightening the appointment process for filling vacancies for elected officials.
Discussion ensued amongst the Commissioners and there was consensus to put
this topic on the April 12, 2023 agenda.

4.2 Meeting Frequency: Discussion and Possible Action on Changes to

There was consensus to continue this item to the April 12, 2023 meeting.
4.3 Discussion and Possible Action on Letter to City Council Regarding
Ranked Choice Voting Concept
Commissioners discussed slight changes to the letter. Discussion ensued
and there was consensus to submit the letter to City Council, with
Commissioner Buddingh to present to City Council under the Boards and
Commissions section of the agenda.
4.4 Discussion Regarding Potential Increase in Number of City Council
Members
Commissioner Glanz was not present to present. Discussion ensued and
there was consensus to continue this item to the April 12, 2023 meeting.

Deputy City Attorney Megan McClurg announced that Jill Maland has been
appointed interim City Attorney for Chula Vista.
