HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1937/09/15~INUTES OF AN ADJOUP~NED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHULA ~r/STA, CALIFORNIA, ~ S~i~I'~:~E.R 15, 1937o The Council met pursuant to adJourn~nt, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, on the above shown date, with Nayor Brown presiding. Meeting called to order at 7:00 o'clock, P. M. Present: Mayor l~rown, Councilmen Howe and Tfw.~ns. Absent: Councilmen Bryant and Boltzo Chamber of C~erce Maps: The Clerk stated that the Secretary of the Chamber of C~rca had requested the Council to consider the appropiation of maoney for the purchase of city maps as had been requested at a previous meeting. The Council posponed action until the next regular meeting to be held in October. CLERK TO ISSUE BUILDING PERMITS: CL. Howe offered Resolution No. 494, which is a resolution directing the city clerk to act as clerk for the Building Inspector and as such to issue building permits and account for fees collected from same. The resolution was rea~, and was passed and adopted as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: 0lc Tf~wnons, Brown and Howe. NC~: None. ABS~7~: Cl. Bryant, Boltz. ACCEPTING ~ TO PAI~[ ~'¥: Cl. Tfn,~ons offered Resolution No. 495, which is a resolution accepting~for the park property from the 3au Diego Trust & ~avings Bank, a grant deed for and on behalf of the city of Ohula Vista. The resolution w~s read, and was passed and adopted as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Clo Howe, Tt~ons and Broom. N(~S: None. ABSENT: N1. B~yant and Boltz. FIRE T~CK LIABILITY: Cl. Howe offered l~solution No. 4@6, which is a resolution whereby the City of Chula Vista assumes an~ and all liability arising frc~ injury to person or property occasioned by the use of any fire apparatus loaned to this city by the 0ity,_of San Diego, and directing the city clerk to make necessary arrangements with the Y~usurence Co. to cover same. The City of San Diego has offered to lean necessary fire apparatus to the City of Chula Vista while it's fire equipment is being repaired. The resolution was read, and was passed and adopted as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Cl. Timmons, Brown and Hhwe. NOES: Nome. ABSENT: Cl. Bryant and Boltzo AUDITOR'S REPORT: The ~n~ual report of the Auditor for the fiscal year was examined and ordered filed. L. E. BOND, ,E~P.~2QB~E: Upon motion by Cl. Howe$ secon~led by Clo Tin, sons, which carried, the Council approved the expenses incurred by L. E. Bond while contacting Airplane Companies during his summer spent in the East. BILLS ~"~ID: Upon motion by Cl. Tin~uons, seconded by Cl. Howe, which carried, the following bills, after examination by the Finance Cormuittee, were ordered paid: 11278 San Diego Cons. Gas & Electric Co. Electricity 11279 Lester E. Bond, l~omotion expenses, 65.03 MOTOR GLIDE TRAC~: l~Lr. Y. P. '~'~ilson, distributor of ~tor Glide, reported to the Council that he baa contacted all the property owners within ~00 feet of l~he prOposed t~ac~ and had not had any complaints against the installation of a l~otor Glide track. The City Attorney stated that three proper~y owners had made complaints with him upon the basis that the property was located in the single family residence zone and as such it violat ed the ordinance regardLug same. The City Attorney stated that any of these property owners could restrain the city from entering into and carrying out a lease for such purposee The Council informed Mr. Wilson that due to suid zoning they could not accept said offer and that ended the matter.
