Dear Planning Commission Members,
Please accept this email as support for Brookfield Properties proposal to develop 244 townhomes, along with a public
park and additional space for future commercial/retail at the former Sears building & auto center at the Chula Vista
Center.
This project contributes much needed new middle income housing in a location close to established public transit
opportunities. We've long heard from City stakeholders about the need for additional new housing stock in Western
Chula Vista, and this seems to contribute directly to that recognized need. New residential also brings the additional
visibility and patronage to the retail that exists immediately adjacent and nearby and enables a new public park in the
area.
I appreciate this opportunity to contribute public comment and support the project, and thank you for your
commitment to the best interests of Chula Vista as a whole.
