OF THE CITY OF CHUL% ~ISTA, CALIF01~IA, t~EIB FEBRUARY 25, 1947
The City Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the
above date. It v~s moved by Councilm~ Nashold, seconded by Councilman Kidder,
and carried, that Councilman Riesland be I~ayor l~o-Tem. The meeting was called
to order at 7 o'clock Po~., Present: Councilmen Rieslaud, Nashold, Dyson,
Kidder. Absent: Councilman Koester.
i~l:0!kwI~INT TO LIBRART BOARD: Mayor pro-tern Riesland, appointed Eir. Yoseph Rindc~e
to the Library Board, to fill the une~q01red term of ~Lr. W. SoPhillips, resigned.
~hersupon it was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Dyson, ~ud
carried, that the appointment be confirmed.
ASSI~,~E[~ OF TIDELANE6 LEASE: The office of Real Property disposal of the United
States Government, requested a transfer of a lease of Tidelands made Yauuery 14,
19~4, between the City of Chula Vista and the Reconstruction Finance Corporation,
to themselves.
On motion by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Nashold, which carried, the
matter was referred to the City .~ttorney for check up.
0~DIP~NCE N0.375: GOVERNING THE ~IOVING II~? OF BUILDI~IGS. Upon motion by Councilman
Kidder, seconded by Councilman Dyson, which carried, Ordinance No.375 waS placed oh
its second reading. This is an~,~in*z~ governing inspection fees for buildings
to be moved into the City of Chula Vista. The Ordinance was read in full and ~as
passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Kidder, Riesland,
Nashold, Dyson. Noes: None. Absent: oouncilman Koester.

On motion by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Councilman Kidder, ~hich carried,
Ordinance Noo376 was placed on its first reading.
~'I~I~TS PAID: After inspection by the entire council end approval of the
Finance Co~w, tttee, Warrants No.5881 and 5882 were ordered paid.
~,w, CTIOH OF PARKING ~,~TERS: Invitations having been sent to a number of Parking
Meter representatives that on this date the council would ~l~m select a meter for
installation in the City of Chula Vista, aud there being present representatives of the
following companies, to-wit: ~Lico Karpark; Duel; and Park-o-meter, the council
proceeded to listen to the individual representatives, aud~ after due consideration
a vote was taken by secret ballot, ~sulting in three (3) votes for Park-o-meter,
and one, No Vote. ~ayor Koester being absent, had sent his choice on m~ters to the
council, aud, at this time his choice was discovered to be Perk-o-meter.
SEWER DISPOS~L PLANT: Mr. Carwile, a sanitary engineer of the firm of Kistner,
Curtis & Wright, presented to the council for their consideration, Resolution
appointing his firm as engineers of work. 2~r. A.S.Monroe accompanied ~r. Carwile,
and he, having had a great many years of experie~ce relative to assessment districts,
explained to the council sc~e of the problems involved in forming a sewer district,
and obtaining money for sewage disposal plant addition by general obligation bonds°
The Resolution was referred to the City Attorney for investigation, ~nd ~Lr.Carwile
told that a probable answer would be forthcoming at the March ll, meeting.
REQUEST FOR GEADI~D: The clerk road two letters from I~.Hurley Simpson, Recreational
Director. One letter refe~,-A~d to the amount of dirt necessary to level up the ground
and provide drainage in Eucelyptus Park,---~n order that a baseball diamond and an
additional softball diamond might he made usable. The other letter referred to
grading of a 200 foot strip at the same location to provide quick location of flying
model aeroplanes. Mt. Bryant was authorized to instruct Superintendent Love
to proceed with the grading and smoothing of an approximate 200 feet strip as soon as
possible ·
NEW FIHE STATION: City Engineer Algert presented to the Council a preliminary
sketch showing floor pl~u and front elevation of a proposed new fire station.
He explained that he thought complete plains and specifications could be secured
which would be acceptable for the purpose of construction for an amount apprcxi-
m~tely $200.00. Upon motion by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilmen
Nashold, wl~ich carried, the City Engineer was instructed to crease the plans to
be drawn.
