NiEits ~at to do. ~e ~yor then appointed ~ ~son ~d ~. ~ge~ EES0LUTION NO. 837: A Resolution accepting dedication of Sewer plant ,nd mains from the Federal Government~ Councilman Koester offered the above Resolution which was read in full, passed, adopted ~nd approved by the following vote to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Koester, Nashold, ~yson, Kidder, Rieslemd. Noes: None Absent: Node. RESOLUTION No. $38: A Resolution objecting to F.P.H.A. disposal of Federal Publia Housing at this time. Councilman Nashold offered the above l~solution which wes read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Nashold, ])yson, Kidder, ~esland, Koester. Noes: None Absent: None. SMOKE NUISAI~ ° FwW~WERICEA HOME : The City Clerk read a petition signed by numerous property owners living in Hermosa Manor, protesting against the smoke and soot which comes from the power house chtm~ey of the Fredericka Home° On motion by Councilman Koester, seconded by Councilman Dyson, the City Engineer was instrUcted to investigate and report his findings to the City Attorney so that he could recomend what action Council should take. RESOLUTION NCo 839: A Resolution accepting Memorandum of Agreement for Project 8- Resurfacing Third Avenue. Councilman Riesl~nd offered the above Resolution which was read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Riesland, Koester, Nashold, Dyson, Kidder. Noes: None Absent: N0ne. RESOLUTION NCo 840: A Resolution accepting Deed to Whitt Alley. Councilman Koester offered the above Resolution which was read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Koester, Nashold, Dyson, Kidder, Ri esland. Noes: None. Absent: None. CITY DDMP The Clerk read a letter fr~n the Chamber of Comerce recomsnending the abolition of the present dump and the establishing of a contract to use the Oounty dump near 0tay. It was moved by Councilman Koester, seconded by Councilman Kidder that the City Attorney investigate and report his recom~nendation to the Council at a later meeting. Absent: None o RESOLUTION No. 8~1: A Resolution accepting Deeds to alley from Willits, et al. Oouncilman Kidder offered the above Resolution wkich was read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote to-wit: Ayes: Nashold, Dysono Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilmen Kidder, Riceland, Koester,' THIR~ AVENUE BIRMY: Bids for the supplying of plant mix for resurfacing Third Avenue were received and opened and the results were as follows: Sim Harris Daley Corporation Hazzard Co. 26,9~2.14 These bids were in response to call for bids authorized by Resolution No. 833. Said call was published twice in the Chula Vista Star and all provisions of the law pertaining to advertising for bids on Jobs exceeding One Thousand ~ollars were complied with. Inasmuch as the low bid of the Daley Corp. exceeded the original estimate, it was moved by Councllm-= Koester, seconded by Councilman Riceland, and carried, that if the State Division of Highways would approve the bid without further negotiations, the contract be awarded to the Daley Corp. upon execution of contract and furnishing of performance bond satisfactory to the Oity Attorney° ~ BOWL ~LKS: Call for bids for paving walks in Park Bowl having been advertised twice in the Ohula Vista Star under authority of Resolution No. 836 and there being two bide resolved, same were opened end found to be as follows: Sim Harris $1218.56 Daley Corp. 1408.96 Discussion followed, but no action was taken. GI~E After discussion of reasons for cancelling our present poliCy with California Nestern States and entering into a new contract with Travelers Insurance Company because of sheaper rates end better coverage, it was move~ by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilmen Naahold, and carried, that the City would pay one-half of the premium for Hospitalization and Indemnity for each employee. POLI~E SALARIES: It was moved by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Councilm-~ Dyson, end carried, that effective Nov~ber let, all Policemen now receiving less than $250.00 per month will receive a $10.00 per month inerea~te with the following exceptions: Thomas Oliver from $185.00 per month to $200°00, and Paul Leone from $1~0.00 to $185.00 per month.
