OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA. C~LI~bH~IA. HU~LD TUESDAY. FEBRUARY 3, 1948,
The City Council met in the Council Chambers of~the City Hall on the above date,
with the following members present: Councilman Koester, Dyson, Kidder, Riesland,
Nashold~ absent: None°
CITY HALL PL~NS: ~P.E.Burnham appeared before council showing preliminary plans
of proposed city hall and stating that he had received a com~olimentary bid of
approximately $129, O00.OO for the construction of same. After discussion
~bministrator Bryant was authorized to get a courtesy bid from the firm of F~E.Young.
WATE~ P~OBLEM: On motion by Councdlman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Nashold,
which carried, City administrator Bryant was authorized to go to Los ~Uugeles
with ~. Del Dickson of National City, to negotiate with ~. Stephen Robinson, con-
sulting attorney, for the purpose of discussing matters relative to drafting of a
b1~l whereby the cities of National City, Coronado and Chula Vista might be enabled
to issue revenue bonds for the purchase of a water system.
B~LL PARk: The matter of fixing up the bleachers and fencing in the soft ball
field opposite the Grammar School, was discussed. The firm of Lee & Leschorn
quoted a figure of $650.00 for remodelling the bleachers, and it wms moved by
Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder, ~nd carried, that city attorney
Boyer be authorized to proceed with the work of rehabilitation of this field at
a cost not to exceed $1000.O0.
~U~ST ~vjH Y~SUP~CE SURVEY: Mr.George lee asked for authority to request from the
National Board of Fire Underwriters a resurvey of the city with the hope that it
might result in a reduction of insurance rates. It was moved by CouncilmAn
Nashold, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that Fire Chief Lee be
authorized to send such a letter.
h~ODELLING OF CITY HALL: The question of remodelling present city hall was
discussed and a decision reached that as little work be done as possible consistent
with necessity for expansion at the present time, and it was therefore moved by
Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that administrator
Bryant be authorized to proceed with the n~essary changes keeping the cost as low
as possible.
P~t~ISSION TO LSAV~ STzTE: It ~s moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by
Councilman Kidder, and carried, the CouncLlman Dyaon be authorized to leave the
state for a period of two weeks frc~ February 1~, 19~8.
0~DINANCE NO.387 It was moved by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Councilman
Koest~r, and carried, that Ordinance No.387 be placed on its first read~ingo
The Ordinance ~s read in i~ll, and is an ordinance controlling the waste of water.
O~OI~ANCE ~0.388: Upon motion by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Coundilman
Nashold, and carried, Ordinance No.388 was placed on its first reading. The
Ordinance was read in f~l, and is an Ordinance regulating card rooms.

and carried, that the meeting be adjou~e~ sine die.
