The Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above
date, at 7 o~clock P.~. ~ith the following members present: Councilmen
Nashold, Dyson, Kidder, Koester, Rieslando Absent: None.
This being the time and place fixed for the opening of bids for the
construction of a Sewer Treatment Plant, and for the Trunk Sewers and Pumping
Station, and also the time and place £ixed for the opening of bids on the Sewer
Bonds of the City of Chula Vista, dated ~y l, 19~8, the City Clerk reported that,
for the construction of Sewer Treatment Plant, eleven (ll) bids had been filed,
and thereupon the bids were publicly opened, exz~mined and declared° Said bidm
are as follows:-

For construction of Trunk Sewers and Pumping Station, the city clerk
reported that six (6) bids had been filed and thereupon the bids were publicly
opened, e~ned and declared. Said bids are as follows:-

The bids for the construction of the Sewer Treatment Plant~ and Trunk
Sewers with Pumping Station being in a Unit price form, it was moved by Counci3man
Nashold, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the award to the lowest
bidders be deferred for one week, to allow complete study aD~ analysis by the
City Engineer, and that his recommendation be presented to the council at the next
meeting
For the sale of Sewer Bonds of the City of Chula Vista, dated ~k%v 1, 1948,
the City Clerk reported that five (5) bids have been f~led and thereupon the bids
were publicly opened, ex$~ined and declared. Said bids are as follov~:-

After all the bids had been opened, examined and declared, upon motion
by Counc~m~n Kidder, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, said bids were
referred to the City Attorney and City Clerk for checking, said officers to
compute the bids and to report back to the city council dmmediately after such
computation, with their recommendation as to the best bid.
City Attorney reported that he and the city clerk had computed the bids and that
the bid of John Nuveen~& Company by Miles Pelikan, Bid Par, accrued interest to
date of delivery, and a premium of $1709.00 for said bonds, to bear interest
at the rate of 2o3/~% per annum, payable Semi-Annually, is the best bid.
After considering the recoe~mendation and the computation of the bids,
on motion by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Counci]man Riesland,
R~OLUTION N0.875~ entitled "Resolution of the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista, California, awarding Sewer Bonds 1948 of said City to the best bidder",
was adopted by the following vote, to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Nashold, Dyson,
Kidder, Koester, Riesland. Noes: None. Absent: ~Noneo
~HESOLUTIO~ N0.872: Councilman Koester offered Hesolution Noo872o This is a
Resolution designating the City Engineer of such city as the said Superintendent
of Public Works, and prescribing the duties thereof. The ResOlution was read
in full and was passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit:
