The Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date~ ~t
? o~'clock P.Me, with the following members present: Councilmen Naehold, Dyson~
Kidder, Koester, Rieslando Absent: None~
TIDELAND LEASE: The clerk presented a letter from the Rohr Aircraft Corporation
requesting release of obligations to remove improvements from tidelar~ leased
from the citye On motion by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Nashold,
which carried~ the City Attorney was instructed to draft a Resolution for presenta~
tion at a later meeting.
~-PURCHASE OF TRUCK FOR PARK: It was moved by Councilman Nashold, seconded by
Councilman Dyson, and carried~ that Administrator Bryant be authorized to purchase
Army truck for use in the park department at a cost not to exceed $1500.OO.
~Sh~Y~R CONTRACTS: A letter was read from Kistner Curtis and Wright recommending
that the award for the construction pf Sewer Treatment Plant be granted to James
WeHuntley~ and for Trunk Sewers to C~F~ Dorfman.
~FILL.DIRT: It was moved Councilman seconded Counci!m~n and

carrzed~ that 1800 yards of Fill Dirt at 50 cents per yard~ be purchased for the
Sewer Treatment Plant site.
RESOLUTION N0.873: Councilman Kidder offered Resolution No.873, which is a
Resolution to accompany application for plans money from the state. The
Resolution was read in full and was passed, adopted and approved by the following
vote, to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Kidder, Koester, Riesland, Nashold, Dysone
Noes: None. ~bsent: None~
~RESOLUTION NO.87&; Councilman Koester offered Resolution No.874. This is a
Resolution to accompany application for State Aid re Sewer Treatment Plant.
The Resolution was read in full and was passed~ adopted an~ approved by the following
vote~ to-wit: Ayes: Councilmen Koester, Riesland, Nashold, Dyson, Kiddere Noes. Nonce
Absent None.
~WATE~ RATE HEARING: A notice was read of a hearing to be held in National City on
April 14, at lO oeclock a~a.~ regarding California Water & Telephone Company's
request for increase in water rates. City attorney advised that he wo~ld be there
and it wac moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder~ and carried~
that the matter be left up to the city attorney~ city administrator and Mayor to use
their best Judgment in the matter of any protests.
HARBISON CANYON MDNICIPAL WAT~2~ COMPANY: The City Attorney read a report which
stated that a diversiom permit had been granted to the Harbison Canyon Municipal
Water Company for certain water which indirectly effected the Sweetwater Water
shed.
~d~MORY SITE: Colonel Bryant Kearney appeared before council to discuss the matter
of a site cn which the m~ state would build an armory. After much dis-
cussion it wac moved by C~ouncilman Kidder, seconded by Councilmau Naehold, and
carried, that the Mayor be authorized to write a letter to the State advising them
that the city would be willing to lease a portion of our Eucalyptus Pare for the
purpose of constructing an armory.
~BEECH AND CEDAR STREET EXTENSION: City Engineer presented a map of proposed
extension of Beech and Cedar Streets southerly. It was moved by Councilman
Riesland~ seconded 'by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the city accept these
streets as shown on the map when curbs~ sidewalks, sewer and grading and surfacing
were complete.
~BALL PARK LIGHT POLES: The Mayor reported that poles were available for the
Eucalyptus Ball Park at a cost of $126o30 each and that Rohr Aircra£t Corporation
had agreed to pay one half of the cost° It was moved by Councilman Riesland,
seconded by Councilman Nashold, and carried~ that the city pay one half of the
cost of the poles and that their purchase be authorized.
~$OuTH BAY DUMP: It ~s moved by Councilman Rieslar~ seconded by Counc~]m~n Dyson,
and carried~ that Administrator Bryant be authorized t6 pay $10~ a month to Mre
McNeely who operates the South Bay Dump in 0tay, for the privilege of allowing
the citizens of Chula Vista to use the dump free of charge°
ADJOURNMENT: It was moved by Councilman Dyson, seconded by Councilman Nashold,
and carried~ the meeting be adjourned sine die.
