T~L~ CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Tuesday - May 24, 1949
The Council met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above
date at 7:00 o'clock P. M. with the following members present:
Councilmen Koester, Riesland, Nashold, Dyson, Kidder.
Absent - None°
SE?ER COI~TRACT
The City Clerk read a letter from Kistner, Curtis & Wright recom~ending
the acceptance of the new Sewer Plant. 5~tion was made by Councilman Kidder,
seconded by CounciLman Riesland, and carried, that the Yo W. Huntley contract be
extended to ~ay Z1, 1949, at which time the City Attorney shall have a resolution
drawn up accepting the work done by Mr. Euntley, and a warrant be made out to pay
the balance due on 90% of the contract.
Motion was made by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilr~an Nashold
and carried, that an extension to June 14, 1949, be given to Charles J. Dorfm~n,
Contractor for Trunk Line Sewer Construction.
PMflTIOE - Protesting the discontinuance of the cross-walk located on Third Avenue
between Davidson Street and "F" Street.
~,~. Lee Alsip presented a petition to the Council with approximately 450
signatures which read as follows: "We, the undersigned, merchants or residents of
the City of Chula Vista, oppose the proposed plan to close and discontinue the
existing marked pedestrian cross-wa]~ between "F" Street and Dsvidson Street on
Third Avenue in the City of Chula Vista, and recola~end that said plan be abandoned."
It was moved by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and
carried, that the cross-walk established on $r8 Avenue between Davi~son Street and
"F" Street rewmin as it now is, ane that the petition go on file for reference in
the event that such question should arise again.
EEPAYME~ C0~tCT ON S~wERS
5~. Ao D. Uecker and C. Oo Boltz appeared before the Co~cil and requested
that the City accept the sewer line as it is in the Bonita Park Subdivision and
along Bonita Road. In the absence of the City f~torney, it w~s suggested that Mr.
Uecker and ~,~. Boltz con~act ~,Tro Boyer and appear at the next meeting to be held
~ay 31, 1949.

It was moved by CounciLman Nashold, seconded by Councilman Eieslend, and
carried, that Ordinance No. 403, in i~s revised form, be place~ on ims first read-
ing. The same was thereupon read in ~ull to the Council.
~UILDING PER~T REFLR~D
The City Clerk stated to the Council that Mr. Aage Christenson of 546
Twin Oaks Avenue, had tsken out a pe:~it to build a dwelling on his property and
later found there were Deed Restrictions against the construction o~ a small house
on the same property, and requested that refund be made of the Building Per~.i~ fee.
It was moved by Councilman Dyson, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that
such refund be made°
SEWER PLAA~T OPERATOR
The City Clerk requested peEr~ission to hire ~r. Allen B. Holt as an as-
sistant operator at the new sewer plant when necessary to have another man there,
and at a salary to be approved at the next meeting. It was ~oved by Councilnmn
I~son, seconded by Councilman Riesland, and carried, that such authority be granted°
