M. with the following members present: Connoilmen Kocster, Riceland, Nasho~d, Dyeon, Kidder. Calif. 10,149.00 10 % It was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Council~mn Dyson, smd carried, that the bids be referred to the City Attorney and City E~Elneer to check and re- port back to the Council' at their next meeting. ANNEXATION TO CITY (Claire Vista Tract) The Mayor ~nounced that this was the time and place set for public hearing on the annexation of Claire Vista to the City of Chula Vista. He asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak for or against the -nnexation. The Clerk certified that there were three (3) publications in the Chula Vista Star of the notice, August 5th, 12th and 19th. The Council directed that the af- fidavit of such publication be filed. There being no one appearing for or against the annexation, Ordinance No. 407 was then considered. k~I~DINANCE NO. 407 - Approving annexation to the City of Chula Vista of Claire Vista Tract. It was moved by Councilm~n Nashold, seconded by Councilman Riceland. and carried, that Ordinance No. 407 be placed on its first reading. Th e Ordinance was thereupon read in full. ~OLUTION NO. 1059 - Concerning the retirement of Judge Murray M. Campbell. Offered by Councilman Kosster, read in full, Passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Koester, Riesland. Nashold, Dyson, Kidder. NOES: None. AB.~E.~T: None o FRANK E. DAWSON - Landscaping Business. The City A~ministrator explained to the Council that he had advised Mr. Dawson that his business license would be revoked as of September let unless he got a zone variance from the Planning 0ommission. Mr. Dawson appeared before the Council to explain the circumstances of his operating a business in a residential zone. After much discussion, Mr. Dawson was advised that he should apply to the pl.~=ing Com- mission for a zone variance before a license could be issued beyond September let. I~ESOLUTION NO. 1058 - Electing to pay out of Municipal Funds all of the amount of tax which w~Ald otherwise be levied upon property within said City of Chula Vista by and for the Metropolitan Water District. Offered by Councilm-u Dyson, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote to-wit: PI~0PO~ED CITT OHAi~I~R - Printing Yt w~s moved by Oou~.c~l,,~,~', RleslRnd, seconded by Cc~ncilma~ Koester, and carried, that the proposed City CBarter be printed. AD~0U~NMENT On motion by Couneil-~n Riesland, seconded by Councilma~ Nashold, and c~rried, the meeting was adjourned to 4:30 o'clock P. M., August ~0th, 1949.
