CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFOR~rlA
Held Wednesday - November 9, 1949
The CoUncil met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall on the above date at
7:00 o'clock P. ~. with the following members present. Councilmen Koester, Riesland,
Nashold, Dyson. Kidder. Absent: ~one.
It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried,
that the ~uinutes of the Council ~eetings held October llth and 18th be approved.
VISTJ~ DEL SOL SN~BD!~rlSION - Tentative ~ap
~.~r. ~enry Algert presented the tentative map for Vista Del Sol Subdivision for
the Council's approval. ~fter discussion, it was moved by Council~n Riesland, seconded
by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the tentative ~ep be approved.
COL~.~Tf~' CLUB - Use of seller
.~r. D. Higgs appeared before the Council to request some egreement be nade so
that the Country Club can be joined on the City sewer system. Administrator ~ryant v~as
appointe8 to check into the r~atter and have info~aation at the next meeting.

Final
~. John Covert presented the final ~aap for Covanillo Jnit ~o. S. ~fter discussion
it was moved by Councilman Riceland, seconded by Councilman Ki~der, ~ud carried, that
the ~aap be approved subject to an i~orove~ent agreement between the subdivider and the
City of Chula Vista and bonds guaranteeing the installation of all i~provementSo
~ESOL[~I0~? ~0. 1C7Z - A~proving contract docu~ents for completion of ~ sanitary sewer
in "J" Street and directing publication of advertise~ent for bids.
Offered by Councilma~u Riesland, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by
the following vote to-wit:

POLICE DEP~_~ - Suggested improvements of
~. Carr of 178 Third Avenue appeared before the Council to suggest that call
boxes be placed in different sections of to~wn for the uze of the Police Department.
It was suggested that the matter be referred to the Chief of ~olice.
0RDI~NANOE NO. 413 - Providing for the assessing of property and collecting of taxes
by the County of San Diego.
It was moved by CounciLman Nashold, seconded by Council~n Kidder, and carried,
that Ordinance ~o. 41~ be placed on its first reading. It was thereupon read in fullo

City Attorney Boyer stated that the Gas & Electric Company was having a hearing
for the increase of rates and requested ~nat the Council's pleasure was with regards
to the stand the City would take. The City Attorney ~s instructed to enter an ap-
pearance on behalf of the City.

Councilman Nashold requested permission to leave the state from l~ovember l~th
through the 19th. It was moved by Council~n Kidder, seconded by Councilman Dyson,
and carrieS, that permission be granted.

that the meeting adjourn to 7:00 o'clock P. I~., l~ovember 15th, 1949o
CMRI~m~S DECOP~TIONS
The Chamber of COmmerce wrote a letter requesting that the City furnish the
labor for stringing the lights and wire for the Christmas Decorations in the palm
strip along Third Avenue. Ad~inistrator Bryant was authorized to furnish such
labor.
SOLUTION NO. 1077 - Approving agreement with the City of S~n Diego to maintain
radio station for the furnishing of police, fire, and health
facilities.
Offered by Councilman Kidder, rea8 in f~ll, passed, adopted, and approved by
the following vote to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Kidder, Kcester, Riesland.
NOES: None.

The City Ldministrator informed the Council that he had written letters of
thanks to Sheriff Bert Strand of ?~n Diego County, Chief Clem Lensler of U. S.
Border ~atrol, and Chief of Police Elmer Jansen of San Diego City Police Dept.,
for their held in the recent sex crimes in the City of Chula Vistn.

~fter examination by the entire Council and approval of the finance co~Eittee,
it was moved by Council~n Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder, ~nd carried,
that V~arrants 14£0 through 1~£4 be approved for payment.

Upon motion by Councilmen kidder, seconded by Ccuncilman Riesland,which
