Held Tuesday - November 22, 1949
The Council met in the Council C~,mbers of the 0ity Hall on the above date at
7:00 o'clock P. M. with the following members present: Councilmen Koester, Riesland,
Nashold, Kidder. Absent: Councilman Dyson.
"~# STREET ~EWER BIDS - Unit No. 2
The Mayor --~ouncad that this was the time and place fixed for the opening of
sealed proposals for the "Y" Street Sewer, Unit No. 2.
The City Clerk --~ounced that nine (9) proposals had been delivered to him and
are on file, end thereupon the bids were presented to the City Council, publicly open-
ed, examined end each unit price bid declared, together ~ith the estimated total bid,
based on the City Engineer's estimates of qua ntity.

~wmh PLANT WASTE WAT~ - Purchase of for irrigation purposes
Mr. Earl Black appeared before the Council to get a co-.-~tment as to whether the
City will enter into a contract with him to sell Sewer Plant water for irrigation pur-
poses. Mr. Black stated that he would be willing to pay the City a monthly rental of
$~0.00. The Council declared it was willing to negotiate a contract with Mr. Black
along the following ter~: Mr. Black to pay $50.00 a month or match the highest price
the City might sell the water for; Furnish and install a 4' pump end pay for po~er for
same; Keep the City informed as to the affect the water has on the crops irrigated;
irrigate up to AO acres; City to deliver at out-fall or sump; Water not to be resold
by Mr. Black; term 5 years; ~bJect to State ~les end regulations; end City under no
duty to maintain a specific level or purity or bacteria c~Ant.

Mr. Willts~a Eckhart, President of the Chamber of Co~r~erce, appeared before the
Council to give them prices acquired by him for brochures to be printed by the County,
The prices are as follows: 2,~00 - $600.00; 5,000 - $660.00; re-runs - $35.00 per
thousand. It was moved by Counci]m-~ Riesland, seconded by Counci]m"u Kidder, ~d ear-
tied, that the Council approve the pla" for purchase of the brochures as presented.
I~OLUTION NO. 1079 - Tidelands Lease - Rohr Aircraft
~he City Attorney read and explained a proposed resolution, whereby Rohr Aircraft
Corporation was permitted to asslg~ its tideland lease to Harbor Aircraft Company and
the requirements of Article IV of said lease waived. A letter from Rohr Aircraft Corp.
dated November 22, 1949, was read to the Council. After discussion the resolution was
offered by Councilman Rieslaud, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the
following vote to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Riesland, Naahold, Kidder, Eoester.
NOES: None.

It was ~,oved by Oouncil~,~- Nashold, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried,
that the City Administrator be authorized to purchase the following equipment.
Fire Department
City Garage
Lawn Mow~r from ~ears-Roebuck Company.
300 feet of ~ inch fire house manufactured by the American
~bber Company - at 9~ per foot.
Valve Grinder at ~155.00.

It was moved by Couneilman Nashold, seconded by Gounci~m~n Koester, and carried,
that the City ~mtuistrator be authorized to enter into au escrow agreement for the
purchase of the McCausland House for $1~,§00 with escrow fees to be paid in the =~n~r
customary in the eommunit~y and with the further provision that Mrs. McOausland may
continue to reside on the premises until March $0, 1950.
