M. with the following members present: Councilman Koester, Riesland, Nashold, Dyson an~ Kidder. Absent - None. It was moved by Councilmsm Nashold, seconded by Council-~- Rissland, amd car- ried, that the minutes of the Council Meetings held Novmnber 9th, 15th, ~2nd and December 5th be approved. It was moved by Council,~- Riesland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the minutes of the Pla~lng 0on~nlssion Meetings held November ?th and December 5th be approved. /f'CLAII~g~STA - Unit ~B# - Tentative Map Mr. E. L. Freeland presented the tentative map of Clairevista - Unit "B~, for approval. It was ~oved by Oouncilw~m Eldder, eeconde~ by Counc~lm~n Nashold, and carried, that the tentative map of Clairevista Subdivision - Unit nB~, heretofore approved by the Pl~n~ing Commission, be approved subject to ~mprovements required by Section 7 of the Sabdivision Ordinance. ~TRA~A~A0 SIG~IAL - Third Avenue and "E~ Street 'RESOLUTI(~N NO. 1082 - Approving contract documents and authorization to advertise for bids. Offered by Cou~cilm~ Nashold, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote to-wit: ATES: Councilmen Nashold, Dyson, Kidder, Eoester, Riesland. NOES: None. -A~S~: None. KING STREET - Drainage of The City Engineer advised the Council that there was not proper drainage em King Street. After disoussioh, it was moved by Councilma~ Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that Councilman Dyson, the City Engineer, City Ad- ministrator, end City Attorney meet with the companies of Lee and Leschorn and Hobart Homes, to determine what they intend to do to remedy this drainage problem. ~CONCRETE W~Y~ 0N PARKI~AY The City Administrator advised the Council that Mr. Tessitore had quoted a price to him of less than $1,000 for replacing the oil walk from Third to Fourth. Avenues on Parkway, the City to do the rough grading. It was moved by Councilman Nashold, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the w~rk be done.. ~LUTION NO. 1085 - Easement for sewer purposes - Gerald F. Chs~.p, Yr. Offered by Councilman Nashold, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Nashold, Dyson, Kidder, Keester, Riasland. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. ORDINANCE NO. 415: The assessing of property and collecting of taxes by the County of 8an Diego. After the Council considered this proposed 0rdinanes, it was moved by Council- m.n Dyson, seconded by Councll~n Riesland, and carried, that the City continue te do their own assessing and collecting of tqxes. The proposed Ordinance was tabled. ~e City Administrator submitted to ~e Co~ci~ the three no~nees by the ~ployee's Msociation for their ~oiee t~ Serve on ~e Civil So.ice mission. ~e n~es sub~ were ~orge Corne~, I. As ~heir ~ selection for the sion, 0~nci]~n ~esl~d presented the n~e of Elizabeth ~llig~ ~d it was mov~ by Counci~ Kidder, second~ by ~ci~ Nashold, a~ c~ried, that ~e be appointed. ~REMOVAL OF TREES - Flower Street The City A~..~uistrator read a letter from Mrs. Io D. Williams of 129 Madison Avenue requesting that the Council refrain from removing the large ~ucal~ptus Trees in front of the Flower Street School ei~e. ~he Administrator had obtained the following bids: University Wood Yard - $15.00 per tree or a total of $285.00. Imperial Wood Yard - Gutting off and removing $500.00 or the com- plete removal of the stump for $~,000.00. Mr. E. L. Freeland stated that Ford & Son had quoted a price to the School Board that they would work on the removal of the trees for three days at $142.00 per day end after the three day trial would make a definite proposal for the bal- ance of the trees. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Riceland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the City match the school up to the emount of $1,000 for the removal of all trees and that the three day trial offer of Ford & Son be accepted. Councilman Nashold took no part in the consideration of this question and did not vote thereon. ~.ROSEBANE SEWER i~JMP It wes moved by Councilma~ Dyson, seconded by COunCilm~u Nashold, and carried, that a secondary float contre~ be authorized to cost $200.00, one-half to be paid by l~istner, carrie & Wright. COU~l'~' CLUB SEWERS The City ~m~nistrator advised the Council that the approximate tax bill month to the Country Club if they ~-exed to the City would be $30 to $40. After discussion, it was moved by Counci~,.~n Riesla~d, seconded by Councilmen Dyson, and carried, that the City Administrator inform the Country Club that pursuant to the established policy of the City, it cannot service the Country Club with sewers un- less it annexes to the City. H'~ ~,~TOP VILLAGE SUBDIVISIOE - Annexation of It wes moved by Councilman Riceland, seconded by Conncilmen Dyson, and carried, that the City Administrator be instructed to write a letter to the County Planning Cc~m.~ssion requesting the Housing Authority to remove the 2~ temporary units loca- ted at the Hilltop Circle Project. BI~.~-~ PAID On motion of Councilman Rieslend, seconded by Councilman Dyson, end carried, w~rrants 1525 through 1817 were ordered paid. PEI~MISSION TO LEAVE STATE City Attorney Boysr requested permission to leave the State frown Decomber 20, 1~4~ to January 3, !~50. It wes moved by Counci]~.~ Nashold, seconded by ~ouncil- man Dyson, and carried, that permission be granted. WE, the followinK members of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, California, do hereby consent to the holding of a SPECIAL MEETING to be held December 7, 19&9, at 7 o'clock P.H., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall for the purpose of: · (1) Discussion and action upon a Resolution entitled "Resolution of Intention of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, electin~ to pay taxes of the Setropolitan Water District of Southern California out of Municipal Funds." Discussion and action upon a Resolution entitled "Resolution Accepting Work of Contractor ~n the construction of Sanitary Sewere for the City of Chula Vista and Directin~ the Execution of a Notice of Completion."
