M. with the following members present: Councilmen Koester, RieslAnd, Dyson, Kidder. Absent: Counci!m-n Nashold. ~0LUTIOE NO. 1098 - Consolidating precincts, and appointing election officers. Offered by Counc~lm-n Dyson, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilw~u Dyson, Kidder, Eoester, Rlesland. N~E~: None. ABSE~'~: Counci~m~ Nashold. CITY HALL- ~ele of. COUnCllm~n Kidder moved that as there were no protests, the Council finds that the City Hall should be sold on te~ms and conditions and time of delivery to be determined at a later date and that the City Attorney and Administrative Officer be authorized to prepare a call for hide to be submitted to the Council for approval. The motion wes seconded by Counct!m~ Riesland, and carried. GASOLII~E CONTRACT - Acceptance of. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Dyson, seconded by Councilman Kosster, and carried, that the contract for supplying gasoline from March 1, 1950 to February 28, 1951, be given to ~aell 0il Company, their firm bid being $.MB29 and disc. $.02~1. The City Administrator wes authorized to execute the contract with S~ell Oil Company. CITiC CENTER PLANS Mr. Percy Burnhem presented the final plans for the proposed Civic Center. After discussion, it was moved by Councilm-~ Riceland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and car- ried, by the following vote, to-wit, that the proposed Civic Center site be approved. AYES: Councilmen Riesland, Dyson, Koester. NOES: ~ounc ilman Kidder. ABSENT: Counell~ Nashold. It wes moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Counci]w~u Dyson, and carried, that the plans for the Civic Center be accepted as modified, and that the City Attorney be directed to prepare call for bids. It wes moved by Councilman Riceland, seconded by Council~n Dyson, and carried, that the City Administrator be instructed to cause grading for building to be done at the Civic Center site. GUAVA MANOR - Final Map. ~t wes moved by Councilman Dyson, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that the final map and improvement plans of G~ava Manor be approved. ~SOLu'£'iON NO. 1099 - Approving agreement for subdivision improvements (Guava Manor). Offered by Councilman Kidder, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Kidder, Ecester, Riesls~d, Dyson. NOES: None. AB~: Councilman Nashold. ~R OF I~ESIGt/ATION - Ro Y. Welton (planning Co.-.ission Me,abet). The City Administrator read a letter of resignation from Mr. R. ~. Welton from the Planning Co~mtesion. It was moved by Councilm-~ Kidder, seconded by Councilman ~iesland, and carried, that ~. Welton's resignation be accepted and that the City Administrator write a letter to Mr. Welton expressing appreciation for his suggestions and services. MA~i'~ST~ET PLAN. It was movsd by Councilman Eidder, seconded by Council-~- Riesland, a~d carried, that the City Administrator be authorized to secure engineering services, if necessary, to supplement our engineering department in developing our master street plan, outside help to be obtained and be paid for out of Planning ¢~mnission funds. It was moved by Oouncilm~n Dyson, seconded by Council-~u Eidder, and carried, that a group of old folks be permitted to use the park t~eatre building one day a weak for games and quiet recreation for a trial period of sixty days amd at times when the theatre guild is not using it. The City Administrator advised the Council that they could purchase top soil at the ¢lairevista Tract at $.30 per yard loaded on our trucks. It was moved by COuncllm-n Kidder, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that the City Administrator be author- ized to spend up to $500.00 for such top soil. ~l'A~mmT PATCHING A($~tmm~ENT. The City Administrator advised the Council of a proposal by Mr. Dorf.~ that the City do certain street patching in the 1911 ~ewer Act district for an agreed sum. The City Attorney was directed to contact the bonding attorney before any action was taken. ~t~ADER- Sale of.~'/ It was move~ by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, and carried, that an old grader at the sewer plant be sold to Lawrence C. Kueblar for $100.00. FINAncE O~l~T~,~ Tt was moveA by Oounci4m~- Dyson, seconded by Councilman t~oester, and carried, that Mr. Gordon K. Grant be appointed as Finance Officer at a starting salary of $~75,00. ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFI~A~ It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Dyson, aud carried, that Mrs. Beatrice Peck be appointed as Assistant Finance Officer. AG~NT WITH CALIFORNIA WATER & TELE~0NE COMPANY REGARDING COLORADO RIVER WA'II~J~. The City A~ministrator read a letter from Attorney Stephen B. Robinson in the matter of storage of Colorado River Water, and enclosed a proposed amendment to the agreement. ~t was moved by Councilw~n Riesland, seconded by Gou~cilman Kidder, amd carried, that the amendment was acceptable to the City of Chula Vista and that the City Attorney be directed to send the proposed amen~mant to ~Mtional City for their approval and then to the Water Company.
