HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1950/06/13MINUTES OF A REGULAR COUNCIL ~,:,~ING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE cITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held June 13, 1950 The Council met in the Council Chambers on the above date at 7:00 o'clock P.M. with the following members present: Councilmen Kidder, Riesland, Logan, DeWolfe. Absent: None. It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the minutes of the Council Meetings held May 9th and 23rd, and June ?th be ap- proved as mailed. It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilm~ Logan, and carried, that the m~nutes of the Planning Commission meetings held May 15th and June 5th be ap- proved as mailed. VISTA SAN MIGUEL SUBDIVISION - Final Nap. Mr. J. S. Pet~rson presented the final map for Vista San Miguel for the Council's approval. The Council discussed the installation of curb and gutter along the First Avenue side of this proposed subdivision, particularly along Lot 25; and the ditch be- tween the existing "H" Street and the proposed "H" Street within the subdivision. No action was taken, and the matter mas continued for further consideration. H~MOSA VISTA SUBDIVISION - Tentative Map. Mr. Henry Algert presented the tentative map for Hermosa Vista. It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the tentative map be approved. GENERAL BUSINESS Mr. Rogers of Rogers Ambulance Service requested that his car be assigned a unit radio number. The City Administrator was authorized to write a formal request to Mr. Logan of the San Diego Police Department. Mrs. G. P. Olsen appeared before the Council to request that at least two members of the Council be appointed to make an investigation of the unfair administration of the Building and Sanitary laws in the City of Chula Vista. She stated that very unfair demands had been made of her in both time and money. She also made a request that an investigation be made of the whole Building Department. Mr. Kidder suggeste~ that Mrs. Olsen deliver to the Council in writing, specific cases of improper or unequal enforce- ment of the laws, and then proper steps would be taken. ~E~LUTION NO. 1134 - Approving appointment of Arthur L. Lynds to San Diego County Water Authority. Offered by Councilman Kidder, read in full, passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Kidder, Riesland, Logan, DeWolfe. NOF~S: None. ABSENT: None. ORDINANCE NO. 420 - Regulating moving of buildings. It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that Ordinance No. 420 be placed on its second reading. The Ordinance being Abe same as when placed on its first reading, it was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that the reading of the text be waived. The Ordinance was thereupon passed, adopted, and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Riesland, Logan, DeWolfe, Kidder. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. GARRETT AVENUE - Appraisal of property for continuation of Garrett Avenue. It was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the City Administrator be authorized to have a second appraisal of the Fish pro- perty for the extension of Garrett Avenue,North of E Street. BILLS ' After examination by the entire Council and approval of the Finance Committee, warrants 2201 through 2328 were ordered paid by the following vote, to-wit: AYe: Councilmen Logan, DeWolfe, Kidder, Riesland. NOM~: None. ABSENT: None. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the meeting adjourn to 7:00 o'clock P.
