Home My WebLink Aboutcc min 1952/01/22MINUTES OF A RLG'JLAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Tuesday, January 22, 1952 The City Council met in the Council Chamber at City Hall at 7:00 F.M. on the above date with the following Councilmen present: Hobel, Logan, Kidder, Absent: Councilmen DeWolfe, Riesland. Also Present: Administrative Officer Bryant, City Attorney Boyer, City Planner Wagner, City Engineer Floyd, Asst. City Engineer 7Theeler. OPENING BIDS - Traffic Signals, National Avenue and "H" Street. This being the time and place for opening the bids for installation of traffic signals at National Avenue and "H" Street, Administrative Officer Bryant read the bids as follows: Ets-Hokin and Galvan - $3,541.00; California Electric Works - $3,522.00; Chula. Vista Electric Co. - $3,322.00. It was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Hobel, that the bid be awarded to the Chula Vista Flectric Co., provided it is approved as to form by the Director of Public Works and the City Attorney. The ^potion was carried by the fol- lowing vote, to -wit: AYES: Councilmen Kidder, Hobel, Logan. NOES: None. ABSENT: Councilmen DeWolfe, Riesland. At this point, Councilman D01olfe arrived. GRDINANCE NO. 444 - Amending Dog Ordinance - Second Reading. It was moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that the Ordinance be placed on its second reading. After the reading of the title, it was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman De:^Iolfe, and carried, that the reading of the text be waived. The Ordinance was thereupon adopted by the fol- lowing vote, to -wit: AYES: Councilmen Kidder, DeE"olfe, Logan, Hobe!, 110 F'S : None. ABSENT: Councilman Riesland, ORDINANCE N0. 445 - Prohibiting Drunkeness in Private Places - Second Reading. It was moved by CounciL^aan Kidder, seconded by Councilman Hobel, and carried, that the Ordinance be tabled for further consideration at some future date when the Council decides to take action on it. ORDINANCE NO. 446 - Regulating Hei_,ht of Hedges and Fences - Second Reading. It was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the Ordinance be placed on its second reading. After the reading of the title, it was moved by Councilman DeWolfe, seconded by Councilman Logan, and carried, that the reading of the text be rained. The Ordinance was thereupon adopted by the fol- lowing vote, to -wit: AYES: Councilmen Kidder, Hobel, Logav, De7Tolfe. YOFS : MNE. ABSETET: Councilman Riesland. ORD11TANCE NO. 447 - Amending Tax Ordinance (establishing procedure for claimir_o exemption) - Second Reading. It was moved by Councilman De7"olfe, seconded by Councilman Kidder, and carried, that t'ie Ordinance be placed on its second reading. After the reading of the title, it was moved by Councilman Kidder, seconded by Councilman DeV?olfe, and carried, that the reading of the text be waived.
