HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1952/03/25MINUTES OF A REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, Held March 25, 1952 The City Council met in the Council Chamber at city Hall on the above date at 7:00 P. M. with the following Councilmen present: Hobel, Riesland, Logan, Wulff. Absent: Councilman DeWolfe. Also present: Chief Administrative Officer Herbert V. Bryant, City Attorney A. C. Boyer, Asst. City Engineer Wheeler, City Engineer R. A. Floyd. RESOLUTION No. 1309 Calling Special Election to withdraw from Water Authority Offered by Councilman Riesland, read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to -wit: AXES: Councilmen Riesland, Logan, Wulff, Hobel NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman DeWolfe V PAYMENT OF COST OF SPECIAL ELECTION It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Logan, that the cost of the special election above referred to which is to be conducted by the Registrar of Voters of the County of San Diego, said cost to be in the total approximate amount of $1725.00, shall be apportioned between the City of Chula Vista and the South Bay Irrigation District according to the following formula: each agency to pay one-half of the cost of polling places and of election officials; each agency to pay the cost of supplying its own ballots, sample ballots, notice of polling place, the cost of mailing its sample ballots, and the costs of publishing its notice of election. The expenditures herein contemplated are hereby authorized and the Finance Officer is hereby authorized and directed to deposit forthwith with the County of San Diego, the sum of $803.80 as prepayment of the City's portion of the estimated costs of said election. The motion was carried by the following vote, to -wit: AYES: Councilmen Riesland, Logan, Wulff, Hobel NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman DeWolfe RIGHT-OF-WAY TO OLD CITY DUMP PROPERTY It was moved by Councilman Logan, seconded by Councilman Riesland, and carried that Chief Administrator Bryant start negotiations with Santa Fe Railway for an easement to the old City dump property.
