No action was taken for the reason that the matter was not one of the purposes for which this special meeting had been called. A petition of property owners in the vicinity of First Avenue and D. Street was read protesting the moving in on adjacent property bg. James Zurcher of an old house. The property owners felt the house not only lowered their property values, but was also an eyesore. The Council suggested that Attorney Boyer study the possibility of submitting an ordinance controlling and regulating more stringently the moving of old buildings within the city. PARSING LOT REPORT Councilman Logan, reporting on the outcome of negotiations with the owner of the lots at the Southwest corner of Davidson and Church Avenue stated that the owner had offered Lot 22 in the Dyer Tract to the City for $31,5U0 and Lot 23 in the Dyer Tract for $1o,25U. It was the Parking Lot Committee's recommendation, with a vote of four to one, that the City purchase the Lots at the offered price. Member Drew went on record as not agreeing to the purchasing of the Lots, because of the location and 'because of the price, Maurice Hooper protested the purchasing of the Lots on the grounds that a corner lot was more valuable for business purposes than for parking. Neil Skinner argued that the price was too much, when cheaper property was obtainable a little further out. The Committee justified its recommendation W stating the property would serve the immediate needs most advantageously and could be sold at a profit in the future should conditions warrant such action.
