HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1953/04/14 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, California Held Tuesday- April 14, 1953 The Council met in the Council Cb-mber at City Hall at 7:00 on the above date, with the following Councilmen present: Councilmen - Logan, Hobel, Riesland, DeWoLfe, Halferty Absent - None Also present: Chief Administrative Officer Bryant, City Attorney Boyer and City Engineer Floyd /'SENATE BILL ON FIREMENS' Sixty Hour Week The City Council expressed its opposition to the passage of Senate Bill No. 20? limiting the working time of all firemen to sixty hours per week and directed Chief Administrative Officer Bryant to make known the opposition of th~s City to the State legislature. APPROVAL OF NINUTES - City Council It Bas moved by Councilman R~sland, seconded by Couu¢ilman Hobel, and carried, that the Minutes of the Council meetings held Narch 10th, 24th, and 25th be approved, copies having been mailed to each..Councilman. APPROVAL OF ~INUTES - Planning Commission It was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by Councilman Riesland, and carried, that the Minutes of the Planning Commission meetings held Narch 4th and 16th be approved, copies having been mailed to each Councilman. ORDINANCE No. 472 - Trailer Courts - First ~eading It was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by CounciLman Riesland, and carried, that Ordinance No. 472 be placed on its first reading. It was thereupon read and discussed in full. RESOLUTION No. 1424 - Resolution of the City Council A~thorizing joint participation in opposing rate application of Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. Offered by Councilman Riesland, read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Hobel, R~iesland, DeWolfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent None RESOLUTION No. ]J~25 - Approving Construction of Improvement Agreement Pepper Tree Lane No. 2 Offered by Councilman Hobel, read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: A~: Councilmen Hobel, Riesland, De~Volfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent: None RESOLUTION No. 1426 - Approving Improvement Agreement - Pepper Tree Lane Tract No. 3 Offered by Councilman Riesland, read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Hobel, Riesland, DeWolfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent: None RESOLUTION No. 1427 - Accepting dedication of Lot 20 -Chula Vista Manor Clarence Morris Offered by Councilman Hobel, read in full, passed, adopted and approved by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Hobel, Riesland, DeWolfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent: None ORDINANCE No. 471 - Annexation of Country Club Villas No. 2 Second reading It was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by Councilman Halferty, and carried, that Ordinance No. 471 be placed on its second reading. After the reading of the title, it was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by Councilman Riesland, and carried, that the reading of the text be waived. The Ordinance was thereupon ~dopted by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Hobel, Riesland, Dei~olfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent None Payment of Bills After examination by the entire Council, it was moved by Councilman Riesland seconded by Councilman Halferty, and carried, that Warrants Nos. 6386 through 6522 be approved for payment. The motion carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen Hobel, Riesland, DeWolfe, Halferty, Logan Noes: None Absent None ~UStom Builders No. I Subdivision - Tentative map It was moved by Councilman R~esland, seconded by Councilm~n Halferty, and carried, that the tentative map of Custom Builders No. 1 Subdivision heretofore approved by the Planning Commission, be approved, subject to improvements required by Section ? of the Subdivision Ordinance. ~/~dstom Builders No. 1 - Final Map It was moved by Councilman DeWolfe, seconded by Councilman Hobel, and carried, that the final map and improvement plans of Custom Builders No. 1 Subdivision be accepted upon the execution by the owner of a contract with the City of Chula Vista for the installation of improvements and the posting of a bond or the deposit of cash with a Trust Company, guaranteeing the performance thereof, which contract and guaranty shall be first approved by the City Attorney as to form and legality. /coUNTRY CLUB VILLAS No, 2 and COUNTRY CLUB }mIGHTS - Revised Tentative map It was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by Counci!m~u Riesland, and carried, that the tentative map of Country Club Villas No. 2 and Country Club Heights Subdivisions, heretofore approved by the planning Commission, be approved subject to improvements required by Section 7 of the Subdivision Ordinance and subject to street name changes, for house numbering purposes, as worked out by the City F~gineer and Fire Chief. ~/~PPoINTMENT OF JUNIOR PATROL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Mayor Logan appointed Councilman Halferty, City Engineer Richard A. Floyd, Chief of Police Bernard McCollum, Sergeant Harley Cook, Dr. Calvin Lauderbach, and two school principals to serve at large, and to be appointed by Dr. Lauderbach to serve as a Junior Patrol Advisory Committee. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Councilman Hobel, seconded by Councilman Riesland, and carried, that the meeting adjourn to Tuesday April 21st at 3:00 P.M. City of Chula Vista, California
