Held ~onday -- July 20, 1953
The Council met at 2:00 P.M on the above date, pursuant to
"Consent for holding Special ~'~eeting", signed by all Council Z~embers.
Present were Councilmen DeWolfe, Riesland, Hobel, Halferty
Absent: Councilman Logan
In the absence of ~yor Logan, Councilman De%~olfe took the Chair
as ~.hyor pro-tern.
APP~iOVING ADDITION,iL APPROPRIATIONS for Budget for Fiscal Year 195~-1954
It was moved by Councilman Riesland, seconded by Councilman Hobel,
and carried, that the Budget for the Fiscal year 1953-195~ as adopted
June 16th, be amended to include the below scheduled additional appropriations.

2 1911 Act City Assessments 5,000.O0
3 Grade and Fill Eucalyptus Park 10,OOO.OO
4 Purchase new site for Shops iO,000°OC
~ Sprinkling System f or Civic Center 2,500oOO

7 Special Census (September) 3,000.00
8 Drill well in Park 3,000.00
9 Tennis Courts and Drain in Park 20,000.00

DISCUSSION ON POST OFFICE
Chief Administrative Officer Floyd presented a letter from Congressman
Robert Wilson, setting forth a plan by which Chula Vista could acquire a new
Post Office building w~ich ultimately would become the property of the City.
After favorable discussion on the plan, it was moved by Councilman
Hobel, seconded by Councilman Halferty, and carried, that Chief Administrative
Officer Floyd be instructed to write Congressman Wilson and request that he
send plans and requirements for the suggested Post O£fice~

In the absence of ~ayor Logan, there was no discussion on the
Pistol Range.

It was moved by Councilman Halferty, seconded by Councilman Hobel,
and carried, that the meeting adjourn sine die.
