OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Monday June 1, 1964
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista, California, was held at 3:15 P.M. on the above date with the following
Councilmen present: Councilmen McMains, McAllister, S~arling, McCorquodale,
Anderson
Absent: None
Also present: City Administrative Officer Ross, Assistant City Admin-
istrative Officer Stenberg, City Finance Officer Grant

Wage
The recommendations of the Civil Service Cormmission were approved with
the following exceptions. Each of these exceptions were unanimously adopted
by motion of the City Council.
(1) Motion made to raise salary schedule of Chief Building Inspector
by ten per cent, from 32½ to 34~.
(2) Motion made to raise salary schedule of Director of Planning by
seven and one-half per cent, from 37~ to 39.
(3) Motion made to raise salary schedule of Assistant Planner by fif-
teen per cent, from 31½ to 34½.
(4) Motion made to raise salary schedule of Junior Planner by ten per
cent, from 28½ to 30%.
(5) Motion made to reduce the number of working hours in the Fire
Department from 72 to 67.2 hours per week, to become effective on JanuaCy 1,
1965.
(6) Motion made to accept Civil Service Commission's recommendations
for proposed salary increases in all classifications, except in specific cases
where the Chief Administrative Officer recommends differently.
(7) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Librarian II by ten
per cent, from 29 to 31, and Librarian I by ten per cent, from 27 to 29.
(8) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Laborer by five per
cent, from 20~ to 214.
(9) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Construction and Re-
pairman by five per cent, from 234 to 24~; Building Maintenance Supervisor by
five per cent, from 234 to 24~; Maintenance Man by five per cent, from 204 to
21½, and Custodian by five per cent, from 194 to 204.
(10) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Park Foreman by five
per cent, from 26~ to 27~, and Tree Trimmer by five per cent, from 24 to 25.
(11) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Pump Operator by five
per cent, from 244 to 25½.
(12) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Purchasing Agent by
seven and one-half per cent, from 32~ to 34.
(13) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Traffic Devices Tech-
nician by five per cent, from 27½ to 284; Poundmaster by five per cent, from
25~ to 26~; Animal Regulation Officer by five per cent, from 22~ to 23½, and
Parking Meter Service Man by five per cent, from 23~ to 244.
(14) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Assistant Administra-
tive Officer by five per cent, from 38½ to 394.
(15) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Personnel Officer by
five per cent, from 36½ to 374.
(16) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Finance Officer by
five per cent, from $1,002.00 to $1,052.00 per month.
(17) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of City Librarian by
thirteen per cent, from $696.00 to $786.00 per month.
(18) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Secretary to the Chief
Administrative Officer By two and one-half per cent.
(19) Motion made to raise the salary schedule of Chief Administrative
Officer by five per cent.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Sparling adjourned the meeting at 5:40 P.M. until Tuesday, June 2,
at 7:00 P.M.
