MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
May 17, 1966
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista was held at 9:05 A.M. on the above date with the following Council~m~
present: Councilmen Sylvester, Anderson, McAllister, McCorquodale, Sparling
Absent: None
Also present: Chief Administrative Officer Ross, Assistant Administrative
Officer Stenberg, Finance Officer Grant
v/"BUDGET SESSION - 1966-67 Budget Review
The Council began its review of the proposed 1966-67 budget and minute
action was taken in the following sequence:
(1) It was moved by Councilman Sparling, seconded by Councilman Sylves-
ter, and carried that a resolution be brought back to the City Council at the
very earliest date for the establishment of a separate Building Inspection
Department.
(2) It was moved by Councilman Sparling, seconded by Councilman Sylves-
ter, and carried that the sum of $500.00 be included in the Travel Expense
account (B-1.4) of the Mayor and City Council (1-10) to provide funds for
sending the Mayor to the annual U. 8. Conference of Mayors in 1966-67.
(3) It was moved by Councilman Sylvester, seconded by Councilman Mc-
Corquodale, and carried that the sum of $300.00 be included in Travel Expense
account (B-1.4) in the Administration (1-12) to enable the Chief Administrative
Officer to attend the annual Conference of International City Managers Associa-
tion to be held on October 23 through October 27, 1966, in Phoenix, Arizona.
(4) It was moved by Councilman Sparling, seconded by Councilman Ander-
son, and carried that a new total of $24,808.00 be established for Public Re-
porting and Advertising account (BO-8) in Community Promotion (1-19).
(5) It was moved by Councilman McCorquodale, seconded by Councilman
Sparling, and carried by a vote of 4 to 1, that the City investigate the ini-
tiation of 1911 Act proceedings for the improvement and construction of an
alley and drainway east of Third Avenue between Madrona Street and "G" Street.
Councilman Anderson voted "No".
Mayor McAllister adjourned the meeting at 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 A.M.,
Wednesday, May 18, 1966.
