Administrative Officer Ross explained that a request has been received
from Mrs. Vera Poyner, 795 Fourth Avenue, for a driveway width variance for her
property in order to provide for one additional off-street parking space. The
City Engineer was of the opinion that her plan to build an additional driveway
on her south property line would create a traffic hazard as cars using the drive
would have to back out onto heavily traveled Fourth Avenue. The Engineering
Department suggested that Mrs. Poyner build a circular driveway but she did not
agree.
Councilman McCorquodale suggested that her present driveway on the north
property line might be widened to allow for one parking area.
It was moved by Councilman Sparling, seconded by Councilman McCorquodale,
