MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY OF CItULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Tuesday March 3, 1959 The Council of the City of Chula Vista met at 4:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers at the City Hall on the above date, pursuant to: "Consent for holding Special meeting for the purpose of discussion on tidelands fill" The following Councilmen were present: Councilmen McAllister,'Smith, Menzel, DeGraaf, McMains Absent: None Also present: City Attorney Kugler, City Administrator Fulwiler, City Engineer Floyd, City Finance Officer Grant, and Administrative Analyst Ross ~/~IscussION ON TIDELANDS FILL City Administrator Fulwiler recommended that the Council proceed with the filling of nine acres of tidelands adjacent to Rohr Aircraft with money available in the capital development fund. City Finance Officer Grant reported the funds were available if the Council so desired to use them and could be loaned to the Harbor Development fund and received back into the General fund as returns come in on leases. Mr. S. Wo Shepard of the Rohr Aircraft Corporation spoke on the need Eohr Aircraft has for the additional tidelands, and their willingness to enter into a lease agreement with the city° It was moved by Councilman DeGraaf, seconded by Councilman McMains, and carried, that the City Administrator and City Attorney be instructed to negotiate a lease with R&hr Aircraft Corporation for submission to the Council, and that authority be granted for the calling of bids on the tidelands filling project° Councilman McAllister asked that the Harbor Commission be informed immediately of the Council action. Councilman Smith asked that each Councilman be mailed a standard of tidelands lease charges made by other cities for the new leases. ADJOURNMENT Mayer Menzel adjourned the meeting at 5:30 PoMo sine die.
