OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA
Held Monday March 16, 1959
The Council met in the Council Chambers at the City Hall on the
above date at 4:30 P.M. with the following Councilmen present:
Councilmen McAllister, Smith, Menzel, DeGraaf, McMains
Absent: None
Also present: City Attorney Kugler, City Administrator Fulwiler,
City Engineer Floyd, Administrative-Analyst Ross,
City Finance Officer Grant
D ACCEPTED ON TIDELANDS FILL
City Engineer Floyd reported that he had received five bids on
the proposed filling of a portion of the City tidelands, the low bid
being that of the A, E. Smith and Spei[k~ Company in the amount of
$121,347.92. Mr. Floyd asked that 15% be added for contingencies.
The Council was of the opinion 10% would be adequate.
It was moved by Councilman Smith, seconded by Councilman DeGraaf,
and carried, that the low bid of Ao Eo Smith and Speaks in the amount
of $121,347.92 be accepted, contingent upon negotiation of a satis-
factory contract with Rohr Aircraft for lease of the tidelands.
RESOLUTION No. 2200 - Approving Improvement Agreement-Madeline Court
Offered by Councilman Smith, passed, adopted and approved by the
following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Smith, Menzel, DeGraaf, McMains, McAllister

Absent: None
~MITTEE ON SPEEDWAY NOISE PROBLEM
Mayor Menzel appointed Councilman McAllister and Councilman McMains
as a Committee to meet with representatives of the Optimist Club and
the SeaVale Group to discuss the noise problem caused by the Speedway
in Sweetwater Valley.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Menzel adjourned the meeting until 2:30 P.M. Friday on
March 20, 1959.
