HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1967/12/12MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Held Tuesday December 12, 1967 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista was held in the Council Chambers on the above date at 7:00 P.M., with the following Coun- cilmen present: Councilmen McCorquodale, Anderson, Sylvester, McAllister, Sparling Absent: None Also present: City Attorney Lindberg, Administrative Officer Ross, City Engineer Cole, Planning Director Warren, Assistant Administrative Officer Stenberg, Administrative Assistant Sullins Mayor Sylvester led the pledge of allegiance to the Flag followed by a moment of silent prayer. APPROVAL OF COUNCIL MINUTES It was moved by Councilman Sparling, seconded by Councilman McAllister, and carried that the minutes for the meeting of December 5, 1967, be approved, copies having been sent to each of the Councilmen. b/PUBLIC HEARING - Consideration of zone change from R-3 to C-N for property at northwest corner of Telegraph Canyon Road and Halecrest Drive This being the time and place, as advertised, for a hearing on the appli- cation of D-K Investment Corporation and Gilbert Dreyfuss for a ~ne change from R-3 to C-N for property at the northwest corner of Telegraph Canyon Road and Nalecrest Drive, Mayor Sylvester declared the hearing open. Mr. Gilbert Dreyfuss, 615 South Flower Street, Los Angeles, spoke in support of his application. No others wishing to be heard, the Mayor declared the hearing closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1092 - Rezoning property at northwest corner of Telegraph Canyon Road and Halecrest Drive - First reading It was moved by Councilman McAllister that Ordinance No. 1092 be placed on its first reading and that reading of the text be waived by unanimous consent. The mo~iQm~carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen McAllister, Sparling, McCorquodale, Anderson, Sylvester Noes: None Absent: None ~/~UBLIC HEARING - Considering proposed amendment to Zoning Ordinance establish- ing amusement enterprises as uses subject to a conditional use permit in C-2, M-1 and M-2 zones This being the time and place, as advertised, for a hearing on a proposed amendment to the Zoning Ordinance establishing amusement enterprises as uses subject to a conditional use permit in C-2, M-1 and M-2 zones, Mayor Sylvester declared the hearing open. Mr. Hugh Christensen asked how provisions of the ordinance would affect use of 8ivic Oenter land for future Fiestas. City Attorney Lindberg stated the ordinance does not apply to temporary uses. No others wishing to be heard, the Mayor declared the hearing closed. ORDINANCE NO. 1093 - Amending Zoning Ordinance establishing amusement enterprises as uses subject to a conditional use permit in C-2, M-1 and M-2 zones - First reading It was moved by Councilman McCorquodale that Ordinance No. 1093 be placed on its first reading and that reading of the text be waived by unanimous consent. The motion carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Councilmen McCorquodale, Anderson, Sylvester, McAllister, Sparling Noes: None Absent: None ORDINANCE NO. 1087 - Rezoning property at 4201 Bonita Road to R~3-B-2-D - Second reading It was moved by Councilman Sparling that Ordinance No. 1087 be placed on its second reading and that reading of the text be waived by unanimous consent. The ordinance was adopted by the following vote, to-wit: L/CITY INITIATIVE FOR ALLEY IMPROVEMENT AUTHORIZED It was moved by Councilman McAllister, seconded by Councilman Sparling, and carried that the City initiate action to have the alley improved in the 500 block between Broadway and Smith S~reet and Roosevelt and "H" Street. ~,/APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER TO COMMUNITY FACILITY COMMITTEE It was moved by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McAllister, and carried that the Council adjourn to executive session to consider appoint- ment of a member to the Con~nunity Facilities Committee. 7:35 P.M. - Council adjourned to executive session. 8:50 P.M. - Council reconvened. Mayor Sylvester announced the appointment of Mr. Dwight Gove as a member of the Con~nunity Facilities Co~nittee. ADJOURNMENT Mayor Sylvester adjourned the meeting at 8:52 P.M., sine die. City Clerk --
