528 Days Since
EOC Activation
August 24, 2021
1
By the Numbers
2
89% of all cases in last 30-days are in those who are not fully vaccinated
96% of hospitalizations in the last 30-days are those who are not fully vaccinated
Vaccination Comparison
3
Case rate for not fully vaccinated residents is 7 times higher than fully vaccinated residents
Hospitalization rate for not fully vaccinated is 32 times higher than those who are fully vaccinated
These numbers are down just a bit from last week.
4
The vaccine is doing its job and is the best defense against the virus
Hospitalizations are steadily increasing but not at the rate we were before vaccines were available.
At one point in January, there were over 1,800 COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Before the Delta variant was the dominant strain, we were below 100 new cases per day
5
Cases, Deaths, Outbreaks
6
The number of cases, average daily cases, and deaths all increased from the previous week.
7
Testing positivity percentage is 8.5% which is above the County threshold and meets the CDCs definition of substantial transmission
Community Transmission
8
Testing positivity is substantial transmission and the San Diego County weekly case rate is High Transmission
Chula Vista Case Rates
9
If we were operating in the old Blueprint Framework with the colored tiered system, then the entire San Diego County would be in the purple tier.
The amount of community spread is significant. This virus is spreading very easily.
Layers Are Effective
10
