TOBACCO PRODUCTS IN CHULA VISTA Staff will provide an update on State Legislation around tobacco products prohibitions and local data related to tobacco retailer locations and youth use of tobacco products. Overall Sentiment Kathleen Lippitt Location: 92064, Poway Submitted At: 3:24pm 05-13-21 Please consider banning not only flavored tobacco products but flavored marijuana products. Both have contributed to the youth use epidemic of vaping. Please consider not exempting hookah because hookahs are also used for both tobacco and marijuana; both have harmful effects, especially to adolescents. Both violate California's Clean Indoor Air Law and smoke free workplace laws. 79% of hookah users use flavorings and 80% of young people who ever used tobacco began with flavored tobacco products. The risk of exempting hookah is that vape dealers could morph into hookah sellers over night.
