Concerns cited include: ■ Traffic safety ■ Community Safety ■ Illegal dumping and litter 0 COmmunity ambiance (curb appeal) CHUTAOf VISTA Recreational Vehicle Types "Recreational Vehicles" includes, but is not limited to: ■ Camp trailers (California Vehicle Code Section 242)4b ■ Fifth-wheel travel trailers (California Vehicle Code Section 324)4b ■ House cars (California Vehicle Code Section 362)4b ■ Trailer coaches (California Vehicle Code Section 635); ■ Mobile homes (California Vehicle Code Section 396)4b ■ Boats and/or trailers, including jet skis and/or jet ski trailers; ■ 4D Dune buggies and off-road or all-terrain vehicles and/or trailers; ■ Trailers used for the transportation of equipment, vehicles or anima ls; ■ Recreational vehicles (California Health & Safety Code Section 18010); ■ Folding camper trailers* ■ Any other motorized or towed vehicle designed,, maintained or used primari ly for recreational purposes. Existin9 Chula Vista CITY Of CHULA VISTA M unicip al Code ( CVMC ) CVMC 10.84.020 regulates parking of vehicles on portions of private property. No vehicle, vacation trailer, camping trailer, boat., boat trailer, camper or recreational vehicle may be parked or placed within the front yard or exterior side yard (i.e., street side of a corner lot) setback, except as follows: A. In a garage or carport. B,, On a paved driveway,, C. On a dust-free area adjacent to a paved driveway,, "Adjacent" shall mean within 10 feet of the edge of the driveway., D. When parking is not available under subsections (A) through (C) of this section, then consideration shall be given by the zoning administrator to select a parking area on the opposite side of the lot or other appropriate locations. CVMC OW Of CHUTAVISTA Overheight Vehicles CVMC 10.52.490 addresses prohibitions regarding parking of overheight vehicles. ■ Overheight Vehicle any vehicle with a height of six feet or more at any point on the vehicle measured from the roadway. ■ Pursuant to California Vehicle Code (CVC) 22507 and 21360., the City Engineer may establish locations where parking of overhe*ight vehicles is restricted based on the site obstruction posed by overhe*ight vehicles to vehicles entering the roadway from an intersection the maximum distance of restriction is 100 feet from the curb return. CVMC Ow Of CHUTAVISTA Storage of Vehicles CVMC 10.52. 100 addresses storage of vehicles or camper bodies on streets. ■ No vehicle can park on a street or alley for more than a consecutive period of 72 hours. ■ No camper body, which has been detached from a motor vehicle shall be left standing on a City street at any time. CHUTAOf VISTA Impact to the Community Parking or storing of motorized or towed recreational vehicles on city streets can negatively affect traffic safety and quality of life for those who live and work in Chula Vista. Currently, the CVMC does not address some of the residents' and businesses' concerns related to parking and storing recreational vehicles in the community.
