The streets are public, and if you are going to use the public streets, then the government (police) have the right to know about your use. In this case, as I understand it, the information they get is about one’s locality and time thereof. The law-biding driver is no worse off, and society is better off in its job of protecting us. The Chula Vista Police Department is using a lot of new technology and Automated License Plate Readers is simply a way to help them protect us and enforcing the laws.
