"I actually drove by the site...I have to concur that it really is aneyesore…I asked myself a question:If I was living across the street, would I really want to be looking at that for years to come,or would Iratherseeabetterdesigneddevelopment?

Commissioner Torres
"I strongly support this project. It's the right project in the right
location. This is my neighborhood; this is my hood. I don't live to far
from this area. As stated in the staff report, the primary tenant has
already signed a lease to locate nearby… For this project, I don't have
any problem with the minute decrease in available industrial land. For
this project, this is the right project in the right neighborhood. I think
we should support it."

Chair Gutierrez
"I'm familiar with the area...I can tell you that this is such a catalyst for
that community, and it is just such a beautiful and thoughtful project. I
really think this is a good change, I think it's a positive change, and can
hopefully create additional projects in the neighborhood that can bring
enhanced architectural features... And of course being that we are in a
housing crisis and a public health crisis, I do think that the additional
housing units is a really great opportunity for the community, so I also
support this project and I will make a motion to approve this project."
