RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING AN INDIVIDUAL PARK
MASTER PLAN AND NEIGHBORHOOD PARK NAME FOR
PARK P-1 NEIGHBORHOOD PARK OF OTAY RANCH,
VILLAGE ELEVEN
WHEREAS, the Brookfield Shea Otay LLC is requesting approval of a public
neighborhood park master plan and park name for park P-1 located in Otay Ranch Village 11;
and
WHEREAS, the proposed park design is consistent with the concept plan contained in the
Otay Ranch Village Eleven, Recreation, Open Space and Trails Plan document in that it
incorporates key recreational facilities envisioned for the site and once approved, the master plan
will be the basis for the preparation of construction drawings and specifications that are used to
build the park; and
WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Coordinator has determined that the project is
exempt from environmental review under Section 15304, Class 4(b) exemption (Minor
Alterations to Land) identified by California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); and
WHEREAS, the park name proposed by the applicant (Windingwalk Park) refers to one
of the park's fronting streets as well as the winding path through the park. The proposed park
name is consistent with the Village Eleven subdivision name "Windingwalk"; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission, at it meeting on June 19, 2003,
approved the draft park master plan for the 7.0 net acre public neighborhood park and voted for
the park to be named "Windingwalk Park".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby approve an individual park master plan and park name "Windingwalk Park"
for the 7.0 acres of public neighborhood park site located in the Otay Ranch, Village Eleven.
