HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2020-221RESOLUTION NO. 2020-221 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA MAKING VARIOUS AMENDMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2019/2020 BUDGET TO ADJUST FOR VARIANCES AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR WHEREAS, the City Charter states that at any meeting after the adoption of the budget, the City Council may amend or supplement the budget by a motion adopted by the affirmative votes of at least four members; and WHEREAS, staff has completed the budget review for the quarter ending June 30, 2020, and is recommending several budget amendments; and WHEREAS, staff is recommending $2,405,923 in appropriations to multiple departments in the General Fund that will be offset by $1,675,219 in revenues resulting in a net impact increase of $730,704; and WHEREAS, the Transportation Grants – Gas Tax Fund and the Equipment Replacement Fund will be negatively impacted due to adjustments that will add appropriations that will be made from the available balances of this fund; and WHEREAS, the 2016 Measure P Sales Tax Fund, 2018 Measure A Sales Tax Fund, Advanced Life Support Fund, Other Grants, Local Grants, Federal Grants, State Grants, Central Garage Fund, and Development Services Fund will be positively impacted as a result of increased revenues and reduced expenditures resulting from the recommended changes; and WHEREAS, the recommended adjustments to the Environmental Services, Public Educational and Government Fee Fund, City Jail Fund, Sewer Service Fund, and CV Bayfront Finance authority Funds consist of expenses that equal to revenues resulting in no net impact to these funds.
