Overall Sentiment Agenda Item: eComments for 4. 20-0389 PUBLIC COMMENTS RECEIVED for September 22, 2020 Overall Sentiment Christopher Ramirez Location: 91915, chula vista Submitted At: 3:23pm 09-22-20 Chula Vista is home to many active duty and retired service members who love to call Chula Vista home, just as I do. Some continue to serve their community after leaving the service by joining the CVPD, CVFD, and other jobs throughout the city, including city council. I see two problems with our current status. First, Chula Vista has no resource pages or links on the city web site for veterans to utilize for jobs, local non- profits, or help of any kind. Despite being a military town, Chula Vista is not very military friendly. Second,I find it personally disrespectful that some politicians use service members pictures as a back drop to their office and do nothing for our armed forces community. I recommend the following changes as soon as possible: 1. POW/MIA Flag should be flown at City Hall 2. Updates to the city websites to encourage veterans to consider their city in time of need for resources. 3. And finally, please take an attitude of gratitude toward all our services members and veterans and all they have done to ensure our freedom. Myself and several neighbors have long been concerned with safety issues regarding the Bonita Glen project. We are still concerned that this project is wrong for this neighborhood and will inevitably create traffic problems and parking issues in addition to making small county roads that feed directly into Bonita Glen Drive unsafe for everyone. It is hoped that by annexing this project into a CFD the city will have the financial and legal means to rectify these above issues which will most assuredly occur.
